Clemson's downturn has more to do with whiffing on replacements in his coaching staff than the transfer portal IMO.
Is there any better Schadenfreude, than when a total loudmouth, braggart falls on their face in disgrace?
Is UF still a desirable job destination, if you're trying to make a (successful) jump to HC? -kidding.... maybe
Good. Last thing UGA needs is to be consensus no1 right now. Gotta find something to be disrespected about amiright?
It is a crazy world.... all to entertain us for a few hours on a few Saturdays.
Love the pathetic excuses from FSU players. Weak. You got no team culture - End of story!
That's an understatement. I can't even watch them anymore. They're a pathetic joke of an organization at this point.
I have no delusions about this kid. He has talent, and could be good, or he could eventually transfer. Stacking the QB room with as much talent as you can get, and then let the chips fall where they may, is the name of the game. Pretty sure Kirby is still in the hunt for another 5* talent, but maybe that has been settled.
I doubt Kirby made outlandish promises he can't keep.... $
Finally some good news for UGA recruiting.... I was beginning to worry.... [sarc] Still hope they can flip JuJu though, but it's nice to have a good one in the pocket... well, whatever a verbal commitment is worth.
If Deon couldn't get him to show up to practice and put out the effort, who can?
McClendon is a known commodity. Been in the game long enough, I think most coaches know what they're getting with him. Hines is not in that same realm as a coach.... but if you were ever going to take a chance on someone... gut tells me, Hines would probably be a home run as a coach, especially at UGA. I would've taken that chance personally. You know he could recruit well just because of his accomplishments and who he is as a person, and he certainly knows the position/techniques as well as anyone probably.
That's one stacked looking locker room. So much talent everywhere... probably too much. Watching the 2/3's compete shows how little drop off there is. Some 5* early enrollees showed they can make some plays at the next level. Looking to have a really good team going into to fall.... hope the next portal doesn't get too brutal.
I find it pretty crazy that UGA never offered him a position, when he publicly stated he would drop everything to work on the UGA staff. Now he's at ASU. Maybe he will find his way home one day. I bet he's as good a coach as he was a player.
I would expect Etn to sit the Gday game. Get all the practice reps he wants, but he deserves to be made an example of before the summer downtime begins. I think it would be a very bad look for the other players if he gets a pass, even for just Gday... especially in his situation... big shot, transfer, new guy, etc, etc. I know he will probably sit the first game next season anyway, but still.... don't be actin' a fool 'cause you think you're hot sht now.
I hope Smart can keep it going! Leaving Kelly off the top 10 is a head scratcher. Leaving Drink off is not.
This is a good model if you're trying to save college football as a semblance of what we have now. By including lesser schools into the model, you ensure the smaller schools can still afford to have a program. It's not likely, but it is a worthy effort. What happens to the NCAA and other sports after this?
Even though I never heard of him before last season, I think Bama made a home run hire, base on what I have read. I don't think you could've picked a better coach to follow Saban. Will he be as successful as Saban... doubt anyone will be... recruiting-we'll see, but he does inherit a talented roster to get his start.
Maybe it's just a smart business move on his part. Won't they will release another video game before he finishes school? If his talent does equal the hype, to go along with his already famous family name, maybe they see a better deal in the future... I'm guessing he's got some pretty experienced financial/contract advisers available to him.
If OBC is slinging gasoline like that, then Napier's seat couldn't get much hotter for '24. OBC is an arrogant SOB 'til the end. The newspaper should've asked him, if he thinks Napier will quit the team midseason.....
Having the first signing period before the playoffs are finished is stupid.
Unless there is more video elsewhere, this is the equivalent of a penalty flop for a pity party. Poor little guy......
As long as he's not calling plays... I guess we'll just have to trust Kirby on this one. Feels like Kirby is going for the safe, familiar play instead of trying to upgrade, but what do I know?... not much.
I guess in the new days of NIL contracts, a soft "commitment" makes the other schools put their best offers on the table...
