The players that come here are extremely well cared for. And their entire well being is a priority. Not sure where you're getting that. But we don't have the tradition those programs you mentioned do. I hope we are on our way back. I think what happened yesterday, while a little ugly, is good for your team, good for our team, and good for the SEC as a whole. I like a heated rivalry. We will improve the next few years as we have highly ranked recruiting classes in the works. We will never recruit like those schools but we can improve.
I agree with everything you have said. I don't blame any kid for going wherever he chooses to go to school. I do feel like the Monk family milked the situation in the state for everything they could knowing he was going to Kentucky and I think that is a low class move and where a lot of the animosity comes from. Kentucky is a great team full of great players. I still think Calipari is dirty. I always will. Those fouls were absolutely intentional but to hear some descriptions Kingsley punched him in the face. Looked like a good, hard, intentional foul to me and he did make contact to the head which makes it a flagrant 2 by rule I guess. My only issue is Kentucky fans acting like their team is full of a bunch of choir boys. They were instigating things too. Our team hasn't acted like that all year and they have lost to Kentucky twice, Florida twice, Vandy, and in big fashion. Throat slash or game over doesn't matter because taunting is taunting. It is supposed to be a technical. I'm happy with our team. I would have like it better if the game hadn't ended the way it did but I don't mind seeing a little fight in them either as long as it doesn't come to an actual fight.
Well, Macon and Kingsley have already talked about losing their composure. It would be one thing if our team had a reputation for this throughout the season. They don't. It seems pretty dumb to discount a fanbase of millions because of the comments of a few. My question is how many NCAA violations have followed Bill Self, Roy Williams, and Mike Krzyzewski around?
I think the staff did everything legally allowed to get him to stay. He led them on like he was going to stay knowing he never was. There will always be some animosity there. And it's probably good for SEC basketball. Most of us, while we would love to have had him, would rather have a guy here for 3-4 years that wants to be here than a guy that is using it as a stepping stone.
Calipari is a cheater. Plain and simple. Everyone but Kentucky fans acknowledge his past. Yes, Kentucky is a better team filled with McDonald's all Americans. I wonder how that happens every single year. Arkansas fans aren't all bad but there are idiots and jerks in every fan base. When I watch the flagrant fouls I don't see an intent to hurt someone. I see a hard foul in the heat of the moment that crossed the line. Kingsley admitted it. Macon admitted it. But y'all are making more out of it than there was. Your guys were talking trash all game and the refs let this go too far. Monk should have been called for a technical. Plain and simple. It is against the rules. Kingsley should have been tossed and was. Plain and simple. Stop with your high horse. Kentucky is dirty. Calipari is dirty. The day he leaves get ready for sanctions.
Zimmerman is a radio color commentator, not on the basketball staff anymore than Chuck Barrett is.
Keep telling yourself that. It is no coincidence there were sanctions on both schools shortly after he left them. He knows when to get out of Dodge. And yes, he is the head coach. A lack of institutional control is absolutely his fault. As it was with Petino, or any other coach. As it would be with Anderson.
Is a throat slash not a technical foul? Simple question. Was it called? Another. It doesn't matter why he did it or what it was in reaction to. Our guys reacted poorly but let's not act like it was one sided. And Kentucky fans, who have embraced a serial NCAA rule violator, should not throw around words like classless.
Can you tell me what LSU's conference record this year is? Now go see what ours is. Ok. Thanks. And having Les Miles as a coach gives you no room to call our coach a douche bag.
I know we all make mistakes but we don't have a running back named Dominique Bell as far as I'm aware. That was Alex Collins flashing the 2-2.
I don't like everything Bielema does and he shouldn't have been on the field by it does kind of look like the ref is pulling him back. And you can see Bielema look to his right after the stumble to find out who was pulling on him. He has kind of brought this type of attention on himself though with things he has said and done. However, this is a pretty poor excuse for sports journalism.
Yep. Going to fun. We're going the game against y'all in Arlington. Can't wait. That should be an exciting game!
I am an Arkansas fan and while I can understand your viewpoint, is Malzhan much different. He does have more proven success to this point but the two coaches walked into dramatically different situations. You could even say to this point Bielema has a more proven record as a head coach mainly looking at his history at Wisconsin. I live in Fayetteville. I don't think people outside of our state realize how bad of shape the program was in after BP had his motorcycle accident. Regardless, after the fake injury and lies by Malzhan I can assure you we don't view him much differently than you guys view Bielema.
How can anyone say they came on strong in the second half? They were beaten 17-0 to my lowly Razorbacks at the end of the season.
It's also not that "innovative" when everyone is doing it.
Players can't be substituted on defense unless there are substitutions on offense as it is now. He wanted the 10 seconds to allow defensive substitutions even when the offense doesn't sub. It is pretty well documented. If you can't stop somebody you can't stop them. Making them wait 10 seconds wouldn't change that.
