Brian Jones is a former Longhorn player and a homer of the highest degree who care nothing about hiding his pro-Texas/pro-Big12 bias. All season long he has spouted off about Baylor and TCU being able to roll through the SEC...both teams who went down as soon as they played their first opponent ranked in the top 50. Why would Saban leave the best job in college football for a place that thinks its head coach is the best job in college football?
That's just unacceptable and not in line with Aggie values.
Did you see the beat down the Aggies put on Arizona State? Did you see them finish off Ball State in the first quarter and have the third string play the entire second half? Did you see them pound Nevada? You play who you are scheduled to play. According to Jeff Sagarin, the Aggies have played the 99th toughest schedule to date...which is tougher than Baylor, TCU, Georgia Tech, Clemson and Mississippi. The beauty of this is it will be settled on the field. See you at Thanksgiving.
That is just what the world needs...more drunk fans in an already emotionally fueled environment.
Let me start by saying I agree that Ohio State would be favored in every game in the SEC West with the possible exception of a road game at Alabama which would likely be a pick'em. With that said...your chances of running the table in a league that lacks a depth of talent are far greater than in a league that has the best talent. The real question isn't if Ohio State plays the way they are capable of would they win...obviously they are head and shoulders better than anyone in the nation. The question is could you survive when your team is having a bad day...which every team has. Ohio State has a bad day and who in the Big 10 would beat them? Indiana...no Maryland...no Penn State...no Rutgers...no Minnesota...no Illinois...no Michigan State...YES. Now lets roll through the SEC West: Alabama...Yes Mississippi...Yes Texas A&M...Yes LSU...Yes Auburn...Yes Mississippi State...Maybe Arkansas...Maybe In my opinion the argument isn't would OSU do well in the SEC...of course they would. Ohio State has the second best recruiting track record from 2012 to present (by depth of 4 and 5 star talent) in the entire country...second only to Alabama. The real difference is the average SEC school finished ranked just under 19th nationally in recruiting during that time...and the average Big10 school finished just over 41st.
