To make the rest of the country relevant again, what’s coming is a D1 Prime where only the top 32 or 48 revenue programs that are also AAU members are invited. The great irony is that the SEC is getting totally played. Most of the current teams are going to get excluded. That’s the thunderbolt he’s talking about.
He was probably the fastest man in college football last year.
August 4 is meaningless. The SEC is about to get played badly, and almost no one sees it coming. The NCAA is about to dissolve, and the NCAA is in on it. A new D1 prime is going to be created with 32, maybe 48 schools. Who’s in? It’s a product of athletic revenue times AAU membership. College football is too big to be ruled by one corner of the United States. Half the SEC (probably a lot more) is about to get Texas Tech’ed and Oklahoma State’d. We told you not to admit Longhorns. They destroyed the SWC, then they destroyed the Big 8, then they destroyed the Big 12, and now they will destroy the SEC. But what do I care. My team and Florida are safe. The rest of you few will be partial qualifiers at best.
Let's remember that we live in the United States of America. It's always going to be a seductive thing to want to deprive others of liberty. Keep in mind that these arguments are about telling adult Americans where they can and can't play college sports--telling adult Americans what legal business tractions they can and can't make.
A No. 7 seeding for Texas A&M is a paradigm of absurdity that ought to result in the current members of the selection committee being banned for life from future service. But that being said, I love love love our bracket! The Texas Aggies will be the favorite against every team in the Region except Houston (see ELO rankings). The Longhorns will be a toss up, but Aggies beat Longhorns. And there won't be any sleeping on Penn State. This is Texas A&M's best look at a Final Four appearance.
A No. 7 seeding for Texas A&M is a paradigm of absurdity that ought to result in the current members of the selection committee being banned for life from future service. But that being said, I love love love our bracket! Our ELO rating is significantly higher than every other team in our regional except Houston and t. u. And our rating is almost as high as t. u.’s. Beating them would be great, but beating them as a No. 2 with us being a No. 7 would be an all-timer!
Any team outside the Smokey and the Bandit footprint smacks of geographic irrelevance in the SEC.
PULL YOUR HEADS OUT OF THE SAND! YOU ARE ALL GETTING PLAYED! The only thing permanent is the Texas Longhorn contempt for the SEC. This move is all about blowing up the NCAA for a new semi-pro D1 Prime. Only 32 teams, maybe 48, will be included. All that matters is AAU membership and athletic budget (maybe a couple of partial qualifiers). This gets all the old non-SEC blue bloods relevant again and jettisons half the SEC into a Texas Tech league. WAKE UP!
It's because it is so close to Independence Day. Why do so many people in this country still want to tell others what to do with their earnings? What would George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson say? I guess one always has to assume that in a country like the United States of America, that there will always be those ungrateful her freedom. It's just weird when they are often the ones who have benefitted the most from it.
"Ole Miss’ postseason run is living proof that college baseball is certainly a more unpredictable sport than football or basketball." Better yet, the SEC is just very deep from top to bottom. Like Coach Schlossnagle said, it wouldn't have been a surprise is even Alabama or Kentucky had ended up in the CWS.
JoeAg75 is right it’s tu (actually t. u.). To say texas university is sometimes appropriate. The nickname is t-sips from tea-sippers. JoeAg75 is probably like me in that the dimples on the underside of the Aggie Ring have worn away. That means that less animosity towards t-sips is okay. One thing than needs to be clarified is that Texas Aggies never do the horns down. This is a recent phenomenon that is hopefully just outliers. A simple gig ‘em is enough to make a t-sip buckle at the knees.
It's hard accepting any team as a true SEC team unless they're in the Smokey and the Bandit footprint.
Try writing about the CWS, Connor. The baseball content has been really good, but there isn't enough of it.
It's been almost a month now since Coach Fisher came off the top rope on Coach Saban. He apologized. It's over. Move on.
Careful SEC. The long game is to exclude about half of you. It’s to establish a new nationwide major league consisting primarily of AAU members with the largest athletic budgets—36 teams, 48 tops. Don’t be too proud to see that you’re getting played.
Why can't a young man in the United States of America capitalize on his NIL? Isn't this the kind of thing that makes our country the GOAT? Maybe N. Saban wants what's best for his players only if every crumb of it can be eaten from the palm of his hand and from the palm of his hand alone.
I didn't think Baseball America was relevant anymore. Maybe this was put out for click bait. The best poll out there is the ELO ranking at warrennolan.com. I just found it a few weeks ago. It seems way ahead of the rest.
Paul is right this time. The long game now is getting to the 32-team (maybe 48) super elites, probably apart from the NCAA, and send everyone else to AA. Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. The Longhorns wrecked the SWC, they wrecked the Big 8, and they wrecked the Big 12. They're pawns this time, but still their moving to the SEC will wreck the SEC. Will you be among the 32? Here’s how to find out. Take all the Power 5 schools. Multiply AAU ranking by athletic budget ranking. The lowest 32 scores are in. And if you haven’t figured it out by now, then here’s the takeaway. Half of the SEC won’t make it. Let that sink in. This will bring a lot of the Big 10 and Pac 12 schools back into relevance, which is why they'll support this. If you don't like it, petition the SEC to keep the Longhorns and Sooners out. Petition now.
Listen, this is part of a long game of creating a new order of top tier college athletics. It will be about the top 48 athletic budgets within AAU membership. The Longhorns will gladly watch the same fate that's befalling Texas Tech, Baylor and Oklahoma State happen to more than half of the current SEC. Maybe a few will be brought in as partial qualifiers. Listen, Aggies love the SEC. The Longhorns have always had contempt for it. They've wrecked the SEC, Big 8 and now the Big 12 for no other reason than to have company with which they're slumming it. And the SEC was never a goal. You all are getting played.
This looks like out-of-touch elitist journalism. How is it so easy to forget what country we live in? If the man is guilty, charge him. If there's nothing with which to charge him, then he's innocent in eyes of the law. Whether or not to hire him is good judgement. Whether or not he is a good man is bad judgement.
LSU may be one of those that needs to worry, devil pup. You haven’t done the math yet.
The SEC should get out of this deal with the Longhorns and Sooners while we still can... before these two programs bring down the league. This move is about one thing: getting to the 32-team elite conference, possibly apart from the NCAA, and send everyone else to AA. Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. The Longhorns wrecked the SWC, they wrecked the Big 8, and they wrecked the Big 12. If they can’t beat you on the football field, they’ll try to beat you in the smoke-filled room. You’re asking yourself: Will I be among the 32? Here’s how to find out. Take all the Power 5 schools. Multiply AAU ranking by athletic budget ranking. The lowest 32 scores are in. And if you haven’t figured it out by now, then here’s the takeaway. Half of the SEC won’t make it. Let that sink in.
