Not pleading a case for UT, but have you seen how many of their starters and 2 deep have been injured this season? They've lost 6--7 starters on defense alone, and they just lost possibly the best kick returner in the game this past week to add insult to injury...I'm actually surprised they've done as well as they have to be honest.
Debord will retire at the end of the season, along with some other changes of staff members...
Really looked like Michel purposely batted the ball forward into the endzone....isn't that a penalty?
People seem to forget how deficient of talent Tennessee was when Butch Jones took over. A roster full of C-USA talent (at best) with an occasional SEC type player sprinkled in here and there. This will be the year everyone can judge Butch Jones fairly IMO, regardless of how this season turns out, good or bad. He has plenty of talent in place, now it's up to the coaches to do their part....no more excuses!
Lawson has yet to play an entire season TOTAL because of continuous health problems, let's wait and see if he can do that before ranking him ahead of Barnett in the 2017 daft... His potential is there, but his durability is very questionable at this point!
Seems like you can accuse someone of anything these days without proof or remorse! I wonder why the plantiffs destroyed their phones before going to police to file sexual assault charges? I also wonder why the prosecution has denied the defense attorneys access to said phone records? Could there possibly be some damming text messages against the plantiffs and help the defense? Me thanks so....
What part of "allegedly" did you not understand? These "allegations" are nearly 2yrs old now with NO convictions! Seems as if there were some SOLID proof of sexual assault, those 2 players would be in jail right now....
Maybe Mizzou's coach can PROTEST and get more money....
LOL @ the guys trying to justify hiring Roper! Cutcliff kept Roper because he could trust him to do as he was told, not because he's some kind of offensive genius. Face it Cock fans, the Muschamp hire has disaster written all over it, he's another Saban discipline who's drastically overrated...
So a 1st time DC in Sirmon makes the list, but Shoop at Tennessee doesn't? Hell, Shoop's results at DC will rival anyone's on the list and I'm not even a Tennessee fan. Try using Google occasionally, you'll be surprised at the amount of info that comes up on these subjects....
Maybe they should "pursue" a degree in something that is much more useful in life, rather than whatever is the easiest to pass so they can keep playing semester after semester?
What's the history of UK's football program? Y'all average what....3-4 wins a season over the last 100+yrs.
UT will be fine on signing day, but it isn't going to be a big number class like their last two years have been. Every school loses players and gains some players over the last two months of the recruiting process before the LOI's are faxed in.
When a HC coach is already on the hot seat, landing a good DC that already has a job at a quality school is going to be difficult. Auburn fans may want to lower their expectations a bit...
Arkansas had John L. Smith, Tennessee had Kiffin, so that's a wash. Tennessee had Dooley for 3 more years after the Kiffin debacle, so all in all, I'd have to give the Edge to Tennessee, only because they endured 4 lack luster seasons of attrition and recruiting to Arkansas's one, which put them much further behind in playing catch up. Both are much better teams than their records indicate...
I agree, he's a 4 star player, a couple of stars too much for Arky...lol
Kensucky has a football team? Who would've known....
A win, whether by 50pts or 1pt is a win and I'd take 12 - one point wins all season long. I'm not a fan of Butch's/Debord's offense, but as long as it's winning, that's really all that matters.
I guess Ol' Danny Boy is feeling cocky since FSU's win over that powerhouse program at Chattanooga....lol, he also needs to remind me how many RANKED teams FSU has played this year, I only remember ONE, and that didn't turn out so well for them!!!
Instead of wondering how Tennessee squandered another 4th quarter lead, I'm wondering how Kiffin's mighty offense only scored 19 points against 3-4 team and was damn lucky to get that!
I'm very skeptical on the 30,000+ total for the Vandy game, are you sure you guys didn't add an extra 0 after the 3? I've seen rural high school games more crowded than that game was.
With OSU's cupcake schedule and ESPN's infatuation with Urban Meyer, I have no doubt that Elliot will be the front runner for the Heisman, I mean seriously, Name an SEC back who couldn't run for 1800+ yds against who OSU plays?
Financial papers are not binding, they only ensure that he has a spot if he indeed signs with UGA. Some kids sign them with multiple schools.
If you go by metropolitan populations, Nashville is still the largest city with an SEC team, and the top 3-4 on the list would probably be unchanged.
Let Sumlin inherit the dumpster fire that Butch inherited and see what his overall record would be, it'd be about the same or worse than what Butch's is. I think everyone can start judging Butch with this season, seeing how he finally has some quality SEC type players now instead of the C-USA players Dooley left him. I think Saban is the only one (SEC-wise) that could have turned things around any quicker than what Butch has. I predicted an 8-4 season for UT and I stand behind that....
Didn't Dooley say about the same things when he was the HC in Knoxville? So far, not many Saban disciples have been very successful HC's, I guess time will tell if McElwain will be any different.....
