So many of these comments point to what I've said for years, even when he was at UF. Muschamp is one of the best halftime defensive adjusters we will see in the game. It's not like the UGA players get better in the 2nd half. It's that man. If only he would have picked up an offensive coordinator when he was in Gainesville, he might still be a head coach. Anyway, Go Gators!!
Just realized this pretty much duplicated Hlywd's post.
I'm thinking these SDS writers need to coordinate their forecasts. In the Predicting the Missouri Final Record article, Bryce Lazenby has Missouri winning 37-17, but here, Grant Bricker has UF winning 24-21. Come on guys! Can we get a little bit of consistency across SDS articles?
Solid quote from a solid coach. #respect May the better team win. Go Gators!!
I can see how UncleanNuts is confused. UF defense would be ranked even higher if they'd only played UT-Martin and Ball State so far.
Standard, your analysis brought more value and insight to the table than most SDS writers. Good point.
When there is no real bulletin board material, you can count on the media to drum some up. Media personality 1: UK defense is soft Media personality 2: UK defense say "blah blah blah"
Did he really say "This will be a big mental push for the Utes...."? Wow, I didnt know a football team's mental strength could be so impacted by the color scheme of the week. If so, one might think they'd wear this uniform every chance they get. Come on, writers. Sometimes, those extra words really only make you look like.....well, you should have put on a different outfit before addressing the keyboard.
You nailed it right there, both with the unknowns, and with the factor of SOS. That might make for an interesting season, one in which the top conference's all play a season of out of conference games and see where everybody falls. But, we'll never see that. So, we just get to talk about how strong each conference is, or isn't.
Vehemon, the one thing I seem to remember about Muschamp's defenses at UF is thinking that he was the best in a long time at making halftime adjustments and shutting the opposing offense down in the second half. I still think he could have been great as a UF head coach and we cut him loose too early.
Just sittin here hopeful, and ready for the season to start.
2008 may be almost old enough to drive, at 13, but you've been working that 1980 for 40+ years. That's working long enough to consider retirement, and one heck of a long dry spell. Again, this article was about a recruit, not my school/your school. But, it's good to see you Dog fans so concerned about UF. What's that phrase?? Living rent free in your heads.
Well deserved. Well played. Congrats to the team and I'm happy for the fans. Ride the wave, fans. I know it feels good today.
Thank you, Sparky. My first thought was "They've done good." I dont understand why some fans feel the need to talk stupid about their rival teams. Facts are facts, 2 strong coaches, both with solid potential, just joined the conference. If either takes care of business at home, they will do just fine. Sure, there are gaps between UF/LSU and the top of the conference right now. But gaps close, and trends ebb and flow.
Happy for ya, Dawgs. But, for some of us, this season couldn't have been over soon enough.
