I like the 4th down call by Napier - they were being aggressive, going for a home run. The QB rushed up to the line for a sneak, then they snapped it between his legs - never seen that before. The RB had the option to run or pass & he was moving to the left side, but since he's left-handed that made it good for him to throw. Big credit to UGA, they covered everything. Given that UGA's offense rolled all day long, being aggressive was a good move.
Help me out here - shouldn't the 2-deep roster have 44 players? Is the right # 21 out of 44?
Let's not wait for the full story to lynch LSU, we have one newspaper story. I mean, these things are always true, except Dan Rather & Jussie & Bubba Wallace, etc. This is like the worst aspects of the Poundmetoo movement - if you're accused, you're guilty.
As much as I love CFB and think this trend is going to make it less enjoyable, I can't fault the players. They're risking millions of dollars & the schools are making tens of millions off them. The coaches are making seven figures, soon to hit 8 figures. The players get a tiny fraction of what they're worth - if there were a free market for players the best ones would make hundreds of thousands. Instead they get three hots and a cot, and yes, a scholarship, but many of them have no interest in that, they're training for an nfl career.
The holding non-call may have been legit, as strange as it seems. They asked their on-air rules expert & he indicated that just holding onto the jersey isn't holding unless the player is being held back, which didn't appear to be the case. O linemen grab on almost every play, it isn't holding unless they're restraining the other player. This was unusual in that it went on for 30-40 yards & was out in the open. The ref may have been screened. I don't think the SC player argued about it. The pick at the goal line was obvious and out in the open, no idea how that was missed. Ditto for the false start.
