You're definitely right, any collective should go through the university.

I think this situation boils down to who backed out of their agreement. I am under the impression that the collective went back on their word, in the which case Rashada should get to do whatever he wants, even taking them to court. Either way the best thing to do now is cut ties and set up a way for the university to regulate the Gator collective, I'd hate as a coach to have to worry about what some unchecked booster promises a kid I'm recruiting. Frankly the NCAA should bring someone from the NFL to help them set up some rules similar to free agency in the pros at this point to prevent tampering in recruiting from outside an authorized rep of the university.
