“That know football” and then blame Marshall for that Utah catch. Lol. He was playing outside and underneath leverage to the cover 1 safety who is supposed to have the inside and over the top leverage. Marshall did what he was supposed to and Moten biting down (no matter the reason) is what gave up that play. Marshall’s been a mixed bag, but talking about knowing football and then literally ignoring how outside leverage in a cover 1 is played is high quality self-defeating.
Not to be that guy, or maybe I am, but Zanders was moved to Tight End 6 months ago.
Why is it a lot of Florida pundits are dismissing his 86th ranked passing attack by not even mentioning it? I'd feel much better if I knew he was CEO'ing it and was told he has to hire a successful power 5 OC.
CRob is so good we have no quality ILB recruits for years, but tons of bucks we try to move to ILB and it hasn't worked well. Worst position group this season.
You mean we've worn these all orange get ups for a Noon kickoff in Death Valley 2/3 of the last 3 (including this year)? But yet "it’ll be interesting to see how it looks in Death Valley". If only a little research was done.
2005, Meyer's first year. '99 before that.
And I’m pretty sure Finn is gone too
I logged in just to make this comment. It’s surprising how many puff pieces I see by the UF media that will have something like this. A guy starting as a true freshman waited his turn...um...think he waited less games than Lawrence did behind Bryant and I don’t think anyone would say Lawrence waited his turn.
Exactly, I was coming here just to drop that bomb on Jerome. I've been referencing '95 for weeks. One child on Twitter blocked me when I brought up Grantham's history of defenses sliding the longer he has been at every stop. Our stats this year, and of course 1995.
This is the take, right here. We can acknowledge things can improve AND acknowledge our defense is far below what should be expected. While acknowledging we have a great offense that could lead us to greater heights.

Although I would agree, I'm not about to say this is a defensive outlier. They have given up multiple 300 yard passing games this season. They were a few drops/overthrows from UGA doing the same with not so great QB's. They have missed tons of tackles in each game this season. They are ranked in the bottom half of the SEC in yards allowed and #7 in points allowed. This defense is unacceptable, especially the secondary with 3 starters with at least 3 years starting experience. This isn't a one game issue. Now the offense has been phenomenal, but the point is there, that this defense week in and week out is inconsistent and not championship worthy. I'd love to be wrong. We can make all the excuses for why THIS week may be an outlier, but looking back at several years of Grantham at UF tape and it shows it's more than just one week. I do think many Gators overly freak out, but I also think too many like to make any failure about a single week and I can only assume purposefully ignore looking at a full picture.
Gatorboy, none of what you said really addresses what has been multiple games/seasons of defensive issues. Pitts doesn't play defense. Acting like this is a one game issue is a joke. We literally have one of the worst defenses in the SEC by all measurables. That is unacceptable.
