Someone should explain to the professor that national universities play big time football. The university is an AAU (Association of American Universities) institution which puts it in elite company with the most prestigious schools in the country. Competing at a lower level would adversely affect their position in the world of academia as well as their brand. Northwestern was bad in football for years before returning to a competitive position in the mid 90’s. If they can do it, so can the Jayhawks. There are peaks and valleys in all phases of society. With the right coach, better days lie ahead.

And who says Wildcat fans don't care about football.
