Putting Kerryon above Chubb... riddle me that, plz... Kerryon: 166 carries, 868 yards (5.2 YPC Avg.) (Split some carries with Pettway before injury last few games all by himself) Chubb: 140 carries, 867 yards (6.1 YPC Avg.) (Splitting carries every game with at least 3 other RBs) Perhaps its an East vs West thing... extra brownies for west teams... My big question is... why aren't either of these two SEC RBs East or West serious Heisman contenders rather than an afterthought in the discussion? That's a real good head scratcher, Adam...
You don't speak for the majority Miss St fans... keep that kind of stuff to yourself, you make us look ignorant and stupid, we already have enough of that reputation. Evidently you didn't read the entire statement. Its not that the poster didn't care who did it, there would be no way to know, but he's trying to right a wrong he had nothing to do with and asking others in all venues to try to do the same and spread a little more hospitality rather than hostility. We have the same at our venue, I've seen it first hand and if you say there isn't you're either too drunk or really don't make it out to the stadium on game day and the night before. If you do that's great, but don't passively place our program above any other by tearing down someone who is trying to do right by those who've been done wrong.BTW, MSUDAWGS55, check public arrest records on gameday weekends, the majority of those arrested are MSU fans drunk and causing issues with opposing fans (who in turn are typically the ones who call the police or campus cops). Its not just that we have the majority of fans come out at our venue its that our people can be just as problematic as others. That said, Chris... Classy response! Not a fan of UGA and still not a fan of Richt, but truth be told I've been to Athens on several occasions and had nothing but a great experience and the fact that you're willing to host this person says loads about UGA fan base. Not only about how you feel about your program's reputation but how other fan bases view the program. We have the same issues at our city/venue and while most Alumni I know will step in and calm down a situation against a fan of the visiting team, its unfortunate that people that have no ties or have never contributed anything but the price of admission to the program give it such a bad name. I for one will say it publicly as well to any fan (Yes, even Ole Miss) who's had an off or bad experience at Davis Wade or in Starkville, please forgive, its not indicative of our program's heritage, history or its standard. Hope all this opens the eyes of every CFB fan who is an Alumni and they do something to make a difference, speak out and speak up. After all, its still just a game! HAIL STATE!
Agreed, we had two Miss St fans arrested outside Davis Wade several years ago, they were throwing eggs at ole miss fans and making inappropriate gestures as they left the stadium. They were both under aged drunk State students. As an Alumni it brakes my heart to hear about ignorance like that. Best thing to do is write the athletic administration of the school. I know people think it doesn't matter, but what really doesn't matter is posting things like this on a website that is just going to get feed the fire. If it was that big of a problem write UGA AA and let them know, if they really want to run a 'clean' program they'll put more emphasis on university awareness and letting the students and fan base know of these things so they can be the ones making the difference, its always just a hand full of idiots, its never the majority of any fanbase.
I'm not sure whether or not this story holds merit, or is all that true. Me and my family have been heading to Athens for years. I'm Miss State and my wife is all Tennessee Volunteer. We frequent Athens whenever either of our teams play UGA, we've been going for over 10 years. I've been to Auburn twice and I can't post stories that I've seen and friends of mine who have also experienced at Auburn, especially during night games but that's for another discussion, not getting into he said/she said. All that said, we've never had these types of issues come up. We don't hit the 'bar scene' that much anymore, but we go out to the local eateries Friday and Saturday. Never had anyone act this way either walking around town or visiting local shops. At the game is different, but, yeah..... We do the same at our home stadiums as well. Our crow boos the other team coming out, going in, gives them what for during the game and give a little to the fans too. We expect the lip service we get, but we've never experienced this type of activity in Sanford. For the most part, our experiences going to Athens has always been good or great, everyone is helpful, kind and courteous, we might get the usual "Rockytop you'll always be second place to Georgia in the SEC" from time to time or I'll get the occasional, "The little pups came to the big dawgs house", but its all in good fun and never feared for our well-being or our safety. Maybe people experience things differently because they RESPOND to things differently. That said, lets be realistic, not all experiences in a competitive sport like CFB at ANY rivalry site is going to be reminiscent of kumbaya at the camp fire. It is a rivalry and if some are too 'weak at heart' to handle a little hazing, it might be best for them to stay at home and watch the game on their HD flat screen. I'm not condoning this kind of behavior ANYWHERE, and Auburn fans need to know it DOES happen at your house to, doesn't make it right, but this sport is what it is and it is going to attract people of all sorts, and while I don't agree with this type of action (if it happened the way the poster said it did) its an unfortunate instance that does happen and happens at EVERY venue. Never had that problem at Athens for as many times (and I can't even count) that I've been there we've always had a good experience, so from another team in conference, we like ya, Athens, hate your team, but never had a problem with your fan base or city. I guess the point of this post is to be a Devils Advocate here. You show me one person who posts a bad experience I'll show you one who posts a good one at all rivalry cities. PROUD TO BE A MAROON!!! -No Florida, you can't have Mullen, I hear Spurrier is interested tho! :P
