Seems like they give waivers out pretty easily these days. I mean look at JT Daniels.
@EKingGill "However, who has put more QBs in the NFL as a head ball coach?" As far as QBs drafted while they're HBC, I've got it even at 3. Jimbo with Manuel, Winston & Mond while Kiffin has Crompton, Barkley, and Corral. Did I miss someone? However I expected Jimbo to have more seeing as he's spent 14 years as HBC at a P5 school compared to Kiffin's 8 seasons.
"He’s a good coach/recruiter, but not the Messiah of college football." -I can get behind that statement. I heard someone on here mention how he "fell back to earth" once "Luke's QB" was gone. I would argue that his "fall" had more to do with his coordinators leaving this season. I'm not sure the coordinators got enough respect for what they did last year with all the shine being cast on Kiffin and Corral. Hopefully with OM getting a bit more serious with NIL and the Grove Collective, they can retain the coordinators a bit better.
@Dog til death, I can't speak for every OM fan, but for those who followed his career, most knew that Kiffin had a history of burning bridges, breaking fanbases' hearts, and bouncing from one job to the next. With that in mind, a number of us understood that a level of uncertainty came with hiring Kiffin and we shouldn't be shocked if he bolted the second he was offered a more appealing job. I would have been disappointed to see him go, but at the same time I was at OM during the Coach O Era (Error?) and dealing with OM post Kiffin would have nothing on enduring Coach O's years. My neighbor in the dorm played for him and told us all the wild stuff he'd say in player meetings. I wish he would have handled it better and told the team of his intentions before the rumors took over, but if he had done that he wouldn't be Lane Kiffin. I'm glad he's staying and glad Leach is at MSU. Always have liked Leach and that hasn't changed since he joined MSU. He is one of, if not THE, most interesting people in college football. I just think Kiffin-Leach make the EggBowl more entertaining and exciting. Also, does anyone think that the story being broke the way it was made Kiffin change his mind and stay when maybe initially he was planning to head to Auburn (think, Nick Saban/Texas)?
"What am I supposed to do? Ignore the fact that my rival’s coach who led them to their first 10-2 regular season might move on to a new school and pretend not to be excited about it? THAT would be pathetic." -No, totally fine being excited or hopeful. However, excessively commenting like a nutter while making it look as if the coach of another team, rival or not, lives rent free in your head IS a bit pathetic. "Every state fan I know is sick and tired of that man getting so much attention from the media" -Funny, the friends of mine and various neighbors who are State alums aren't losing sleep over the media giving Kiffin attention. Though, they also have lives and more important issues to deal with in said lives. Sounds like you could benefit by getting a life, or at the very least a hobby. Try pickle ball, apparently it's all the rage these days. "Evidently, we can beat him in the egg bowl. That’s more important than getting media attention." -Nice! One win out of three ain't too bad, I suppose. Congrats, really something to hang your hat on.
