All the back and forth bickering on this thread and others like it is exactly why we are mired in this mess worse than we should be. For God's sake, if you listen to one and only one news source - whether it's left or right - find something in the middle or spend some time listening to both left and right sources and stop being so mad at each other. One thing is clear from this pandemic. We are being pitted against each other because fear and hate are strong motivators. I want college football badly. But let me ask you this - do you think that the administrators of these schools, who rely on the revenue of football for a huge portion of their funding, would pull the plug on the season as a political statement? Do you think that they would make that kind of decision lightly either way based on input from Fox News or CNN? Of course not. They will gather the best evidence from the most respected sources on the subject matter to base this decision on and they would weigh the overall impact of their decision on the impacts on the athletics, the academics, and the economics of their schools as a whole. I think what is really telling these days is when companies or institutions make decisions to walk away from huge stacks of money. I don't care what party you're for, I'm guessing you would agree that no organization is going to do that because "they're leaning towards a political direction". They're doing it because their is a down side risk that they feel is bigger than the upside of pushing forward. In a way, these kinds of decisions may give you more of an accurate insight about this pandemic than any news you may choose to take in.
