"Fayetteville is 15 minutes from Tulsa...by phone." - Lou Holtz. I love that quote.
There is a D2 school in Pittsburg, Kansas(the Gorillas), that has the best indoor facility I've ever seen. $17.5 million. Not too many D2 schools can spend that much, but they got their money's worth. Nicer than most on this list.
Damn-near every team that finishes .500 and above gets to participate in a regionally-selected bowl game, the rest just get free college educations(usually). College football is socialist.
An important note about the BYU job: The head coach has to be an active Mormon (assistants don't). BYU was dealing with a much smaller applicant pool, right off the bat.
He goes to Stanford...he wins in life.
This headline came from my 4 year-old nephew with a lisp. He was actually talking about Alabama.
Takes Clemsoning to a whole new level. That was inappropriate, I would like to apologize.
For as much as he's disliked, Dennis Franchione has a pretty impressive coaching tree.
I feel like Florida has been playing with house money for most of the year. First year coach, re-building mode, up and down with the line-ups and roster, they could tank the rest of the season and it would still be a highlight reel compared to the last 3 years.
I don't want to go to the football game ever again, 'cause the Volunteers always lose...*sniff, sniff*.
"If this keeps up, we might fall out of the Top 25." - Coach Bielema.
Bielema isn't going anywhere for a while. His buyout is astronomical. Bielema seems like a hell of a guy, and I like what he's done with the culture, I just wish he could win the games he's supposed to win and a couple of the others.
So, are we officially a baseball school now? I think the offense looked better this game than it has the previous two, especially considering the injuries on that side of the ball (even against UTEP, our run game seemed pathetic, and I don't believe that was by a "keep it low-profile" design). And, the defense is just bad...no other way to say it without expletives.
It's funny that last year we were scared of losing Robb Smith to a head coaching job. Is it baseball season, yet? Basketball isn't going to be any better for us this year. Can we just officially become a baseball school now? At least we'll always have track and XC. WPS, indeed.
When I saw Arizona State come out, I mistook them for the chorus line from Xanadu. There is no pun intended.
Nothing against Florida, but I recently watched a video of a D2 school in Kansas that just built a $17 million indoor facility, and they seemed to have gotten a lot more for their money. New locker rooms, new weight facilities, and a big screen. I realize that expectations are a bit lower at that level, but Florida's facility seems kind of plan. If anyone wants to draw comparisons check out the Pitt State Gorillas. http://youtu.be/jzjsT94IDto
Oh for the love of god, just put a count-down to basketball season on it.
This really sinks. I hate this for JW. And it's going to hurt. But, Coach Bielema could probably run(or trot) for a TD with this offensive line.
Just going to throw this out there: I really think that this list should be made by Budweiser, and not by the Princeton Review.
It wasn't too long ago that a D2 school in Kansas made the top 20, either.
Arkansas - UTEP tickets are free with the purchase of any large drink at Sonic.
LSU - Syracuse: I think Les could win that one by himself.
It's not a marquee matchup, granted. But just for the sake of this year being the 100th anniversary of the old Southwest Conference, I think the Arkansas - Texas Tech game should have been listed. Maybe, like, 10B.
"...neither cast pearls before swine, least they trample them."
I feel like everyone has forgotten Arkansas' home-and-home with Michigan in 2018 & 19.
I am highly anticipating Coach B pulling out a play package of just O-linemen, tight ends, and fullbacks.
But how many of these O-linemen also have a 480.4 QB rating?
