As a Bama fan I would hate to see it happen, but if Saban does not turn the keys over to Tua he should transfer and take Taulia with him. Hurts will never be a QB in NFL and Tua is needed to lead the team in 2019 season. So WTF are we even still having this conversation. Tua don’t share your hard earned destiny with another because of politics and a stubborn coach who may be too old fashioned about loyalty. If he is not loyal to you after the comeback then maybe Bama is not the place for you to shine.

Our 5th string QB could win all the games because our RB and Dfense is too strong. The issue is when MSU, Auburn, and UGA stack 9 in the box Hurts won’t be able to perform because he is a runner.

No he won the job because he was calm and followed direction to protect the ball. He did not panic like Barnett appeared to do. Jalen was needed during a time of transition. Now there is Tua and true fans knew he would and should become the QB before the season started last year.

You just defined the reason why Jalen Hurts should not be the QB. He could barely read his first option (Ridley) much less anyone else. So how the FK was any other receivers going to get the ball?

If he was #1 he may not be now. NFL teams are weary of narcissitic personalities because they are disruptive. He will be 1st round for talent but he may have just cost himself a few $Million.

Why is this so difficult for anyone to understand? People somehow think we are choosing a team captain for the golf team, or bowling team. This is not a sport where individual play is all that is being considered. Who will throw the ball to our Uber talented WR core? What QB would allow our Uber talented RB core have more carries? I could even talk about TEs, OL blocking schemes, larger playbook, etc. Now I did not answer my own questions... can you?

slkk1 you are so correct. I have seen the same comments about Smart prepping for Tua. People must think the coaches saying “the pass game opens up the run” is just a cliche. There is a factual reason for it. To stop Tua passing it means spreading the field, double coverage, OL and DE blitzing more. Basically giving our elite RB’s (and Tua) holes as big as my wife’s Chevy Tahoe to run through.

UCF should be using the situation to push for an 8 team playoff instead of claiming the NC. The focus should be on how if they had a chance maybe they could have won, that the current system does not allow for the opportunity. Having the final 2 teams end up playing 1 extra game is not a bad option in order to give all an opportunity. Unfortunately UCF are like democrats against Trump. Wasting an opportunity because of anger about the past. Except UCF never actually lost.

Agreed. Trey Sanders would become the main guy after a redshirt season. It’s perfect timing for him. Najee will likely go to draft after 19-20 season and that opens starting job for Trey.

It’s not passing ability as much as it’s vision and reaction. Jalen needs a virtual reality game to stress his ability to identify a situation and react within 2 seconds. It may seem odd but a skeet shooting game would help him more than throwing more balls.
