Class rank had nothing to do with the failures of last season. Jimbo Fisher was an average coach at a program that was loaded with talent. He was head coach at FSU for 8 years. For 3 of those years, 2012, 2013 and 2014, he lost a combined total of 3 games, including a National Championship. In the other 5 years, his teams lost at least 3 games per year, including 3 seasons of 4 losses or more. The teams managed to win despite a dysfunctional coaching staff and his apathy after his divorce. TAMU will see exactly what they hired in a year or so, and it should have been apparent this past season except for some terrible officiating in the LSU game which salvaged a 5 loss season. Many comments on this thread are from snipers from afar; I’ve been a season ticket holder since 1976, so I’ve seen a lot of this firsthand. While I don’t think Willie Taggart was ready for what was handed to him at FSU - which no one has mentioned - he has a history of turning programs around in a couple of years. FSU was on the brink of losing scholarships due to poor academic performance, ranking dead last. That is a problem of culture, which was tolerated by the Head Coach, Jimbo Fisher. A&M fans better look through the fluff and pay attention to what is really going on. Jimbo Fisher is a master of deflection and skirting real issues-mark my words.
