Since 1930 every coach who’s stayed at UK longer than four years has won a national championship. UK won in 2012 not because of coach Cal, but in spite of him. It was clear to most people who closely watch the program that Cal was never going to win another at UK. Burned far to many bridges in his 15 years here.
Not sure Coen knows what he wants as a career. Why move from the NFL to college. Then back to NFL. Then back to college, then back to the NFL? You know the differences between the two jobs from experience. His career path is confusing to say the least.
“We’re not bluebloods. We’re a dirty, hard-working brotherhood that loves each other, fight for each other.” Coach Dink @ Missouri. Young men who still “play for the name on the FRONT of the Jersey” This all changes when the “bluebloods” expect a paycheck and are always looking for more. It’s only a matter of time before this virus infects all of the power 5, including Missouri
There’s an old saying “If you can’t beat’em, join’em”.. Welcome Texas and Oklahoma.
Louisville? Would that be the same Louisville team that let Kentucky come into their stadium and beat them? And would that be the same UK team that both Georgia AND Bama boat raced. I’m not sure I’d use that argument with the committee.
As a UK fan living in Louisville (yes it’s been a very good week!) I’ve had the opportunity to watch Petrino coach UL on two separate occasions, and I can tell you he leaves nothing but wreckage in his rearview mirror. And I mean scorched earth devastation. And I wouldn’t touch him with a 39 1/2 foot pole.
Like every other conference the BIG10 is a notch or two below the SEC. OSU & Michigan will be judged by how they preformed Vs Penn St. A team that always wins 10/11 games a has lost four straight to SEC teams including UK and Ark. Tex A$M is a better program then Penn St and they just fired their coach because he couldn’t complete in the SEC. So the real question is… does the Committee want the best football teams…. Or inclusion and diversity in the playoffs?
The UK DB’s were a concern going in and have been a weakness. If we don’t dominate the line play on both sides of the ball, get to the QB to offset poor DB play/open running lanes for Ray Davis, we struggle to move the chains n offense and get off the field on defense. But UK is not a bad football team. Looked at a different way the four teams who have beat UK are a combined 34-6. I can’t say for sure but I suspect there are ranked teams who’s entire schedule doesn’t total 34 wins. So while UK fans are disappointed we know we live in a tough neighborhood. And that’s the Reality.
We treat all the opposing fans with respect…as long as they cheer for their team and not disparage the Cats. I’m afraid I saw a lot of fans in orange who felt the need to do both. Glad you enjoyed Commonwealth and hope to see you and yours again in 2025.
Kentucky stopped Kentucky’s running game. Missou was the benefactor.
Amen brother. A lot of teams have lined up between the hedges and had their heads handed to them. You REALLY have to bring it if you want to leave there with a win. And the Cats didn’t bring it Saturday. But there’s still home games against Tennessee and Bama. So it’s still in front of this UK team.
Some of our Missouri friends may remember joining the league. I believe they won the East the 1st year or two. Tough sledding after that. Kirby Smart Said it this week “everyone in this league can beat us”. And in my opinion that’s what makes this league different. And what Texas and Oklahoma will find out. You can’t circle one or two games in this league, because they can all beat you.
