Yes. Sounds similar. And I agree that both positions are hogwash.
I just want to add a little commentary to the ongoing not quite overt theme coming from a lot of 'Bama fans that continue to point out that Kirby is not on the same level as Saban. Or that Kirby isn't a great coach, simply a great recruiter and a great defensive coach/coordinator. Here's a little perspective on that talking point. Saban has been a head coach for 24+ years. Kirby is in his third year. It took Saban eight years to reach the top and win it all when he first did it with LSU in 2003. There is no question that Saban will most likely be considered the greatest college football coach in history, if he's not already, but if you compare Kirby's first three years as HC with Saban's first three, I would say Kirby's doing just fine. Arguably, he's doing better than Saban had done by this point. Just my two cents on that somewhat veiled talking point all the 'Bama fans and others like to dance around.
What else could "this guy needs to pay for cheating us" mean in the context in which it was said? Allegedly. Those words say an awful lot. While not a direct "command" to "go smack him while he isn't looking", when spoken by a high school coach, in front of, or to his players, it carries great weight. The simple fact that he's seeking "payment" for something that happened on the field speaks a lot to his character. In my opinion.
