The casinos failed on this line.. They set lines to get 50% of the money on both sides so as to hedge as best they can, thus preventing huge loses if a it doesn't go their way.. 80% money on one side has them very nervous right now and probably why the line has moved a couple of points over the course of the week.
As a UGA alum I am nervous as hell about this game tomorrow.. But I am hearing a ton about how "there is no way that UGA holds UT to less than 30 points" but didn't Pittsburg hold UT to only 27 in regulation?? Only 3 points in the entire 2nd half?? I feel like our defense is a bit better than Pittsburgs.. Hoping Smart and staff watched that game to get some ideas on defensive scheme.
Any worry on Rocky Top about Lincoln Riley going to LSU leaving an openning for Heupel to return to his alma mater ??
So pumped for this weekend.. As someone who grew up in Tennessee and had a lot of highschool friends go to UT but went to UGA for undergrad - this weekend always seemed to be bigger to me than Auburn or UF.. Awesome quote from the AJC a couple days ago: The Bulldogs have allowed only five touchdowns all season. That’s why their lopsided victories often have ended with dramatic goal-line stands. Four times this season games have concluded with starters passionately cheering on their teammates from the sidelines in the final seconds of games. 33 of the 59 points Georgia has allowed all season have come against backups late in the fourth quarter. Conversely, the Vols pride themselves on being able to score on anybody any time -- and quickly. Therein lay the competition tension on Saturday in a game that otherwise will have no bearing on division or conference championships.
If Heupel is the second coming, as some in Rocky Top say he is, doesn't it only make sense that he won't be around for a very long time. Its not like Tennessee is a good job anymore and hasn't been for a long time. He would likely get hired by an USC, Oklahoma, Texas when they go looking for a coach. A university with a large alumni bankroll. Also, when Texas joins the SEC in a couple of years, who will we call UT (Texas or Tenneessee) as I would venture a guess that outside of the state of Tennessee when someone says " i went to UT", they think of the horns logo and not the dog or mountain man..
I for one am actually somewhat nervous about this matchup.. UGA seems to sub in-and-out on defense very frequently, but with the speed of the UT offense play calling, is this even possible? Please enlighten me to the rules on the defensive team to be able sub-in a player when they want? I don't mean faking injuries (which just seems bush-league to me)
Honestly -- I haven't heard anything about Pickens or Gilbert returning anytime soon.. Is it safe to say that we shouldn't expect them at all for the season??
Can we all agree to sign a petition to have Rick Neuheisel banned from SEC games until he can prove to actually add something to the broadcast. It was just painful to listen to at times.
Man - I hope that no one falls for his pseudo-christian babble.. As someone from Memphis that was in highschool around the time he was at Briarcrest CS (and had several friends that played for him in highschool) this guy is all bible-thumping when a camera/microphone is around. But the second the press is gone, he is just as terrible as he sounds. Ole Miss is the new SMU (from the 80s) that will do anything to be relevent at anything, even if its dirty as *hit. Ole Miss should just learn to be the 1st or 2nd best school in Mississippi and leave the big boy stuff to the rest of the country
