Hilarious guy to see riding around campus on a scooter back in the day. Looked like a looney tunes gorilla.
True, we've had two terrible 3rd Quarters thus far. Hope that trend ends. We made hay on half time adjustments last year.
I think you're being a little dramatic in the other direction. Arkansas didn't get "out played." It was 14-0 at half, and Cincy was giving it all they had to tie the game. They pulled within 4-points for a few minutes of clock of the game. They didn't "move the ball at will." They had to settle for field goals or punt a lot. They had most of their success on one drive and on blown coverages with Arkansas' top 3 safeties on the sideline. Also to be noted, any team with a elite, returning QB will hurt from losing said QB. Realistically, Arkansas played bad, Cincy played bad. That kind of evened out. They had all the issues they had last year against Rice. They'll improve. However, people absolutely can be disappointed with the penalties, busted plays, and general mistakes. Most people who are disappointed aren't mad they didn't drop 50.
I'm glad he's going to somewhere good. Makes sense for him to go, his carries really tapered off at the end of the season. Gotta think he might be competing for the third spot with Johnson and a SO Rocket. And honestly if Green works out his ball safety problems, Smith might have been looking at 4th. Sucks to loose the experience, but the young guys are so talented.
Well, if Georgia, OSU, and Michigan all get wins. I think Alabama would drop out of the top 4. Then, Ole Miss would get bumped down to it, correct me if I'm wrong there. But, out of 23-25, Kentucky probably should get it. Better record, second in east, and what not. Second choice would probably be Arkansas. Better record, Better ranking in the west, head-to-head win on A&M. But, nothing has to make sense. It's just picked by humans after all.
You made a trophy cause your towns have the same name and you had 11 meetings? I take back my statement that the "Battle Line" is the dumbest rivalry in the NCAA. You can hardly find information on this one by googling it.
I think Hogs and Dawgs will be close and low scoring in the first half, one score or less. I think both offenses will want to take feeling out period. Second half will probably depend on if Arkansas can get a couple of turnovers. If they don't Georgia will pull away by a couple touchdowns in the second half. If they do it'll come down to the wire.
I'd be concerned if I was a Virginia fan. Low effort plays, especially in the trenches, were one of the first signs of things really going off the rails at Arkansas. Hopefully this doesn't become a trend for them.
That's not holding if the guy literally just stands there in front of him and does nothing. The holding penalty isn't that you can't grab d-linemen, it's that you can't hold on after they have got passed you. Every o-linemen is taught in junior high to get your hands in tight and grab the chest plates on the other guys shoulder pads like a vise grip, especially run blocking. That's a no call at every level of football, if you can't get arm extension, that's what the refs are looking for, there's no call. I didn't watch the game so I don't know about other calls, but as o-linemen say "it's only holding if you get caught."
Not sure, why nobody mentions the fact that they are 12th in rushing defense and 11th in rushing yards per game? Seems like that should probably be more of a storyline for the Arkansas offensive side of the ball. I mean Kent St., Colorado, and New Mexico averaged nearly 170 yds/g.
I get the argument about which might be the better game, but why would ESPN Game Day be at a game being broadcast by SEC on CBS? ESPN is probably just avoiding a huge dispute, because CBS called dibs on this game the morning after the Texas game.
I for one, can't wait for the Mizzou "rivalry game" to end when Texas and Oklahoma come over. It's the stupidest thing ever, basically a bank paid it into existence as an ad. I'd prefer have two rotating games for variety.
Let the record show that this guy predicted a Texas blowout, said Sam Pittman was overrated, said Sark had completely turned the program around in one week, and that Arkansas had no talent on Saturday morning.
Huge props to that State Trooper for getting all his guys on helping the Texas team off the field instead of trying to hold back the crowd. Really heads up move.
It's a really long time, like a decade or something. And it counts across sports too. I'm pretty sure the 2014 game was a second offense off of a basketball game a few years before that. Fine was way cheaper then, though.
I think the weeknd is fine and the actual show was decent (some questionable camera work), but the audio mix was terrible! Sometimes it was totally unintelligible what song it even was, and I knew his songs!
Pretty sure I didn't, but those are easy freshman classes. More importantly I thought cheating was like a open thing in the military academies? I know some Midshipmen and they viewed it as a test taking skill
Well, win some, you lose some. Overall, not terrible news, bad for depth
Can we just take a step back here and see that 8th in conference is 19th nationally? Dang, boys, think we should leave some for the rest of them?!
What are you talking about a guy, who never played here, won't play here anymore? I for one am very concerned. Thank you, SDS
Here's to hoping we can build something around Catalon that can hold up if he's on the sideline. Cause is you play like Steve Atwater in 2021, you're gonna pick up targeting penalties at least a couple times a year.
Pretty fair commentary. QB Play was probably a C but if you included the huge impact Franks had in the locker room, I guess a B is fair. Also, the running game was a lot better than people give them credit. OL problems and game situations took a lot of the shine off the RBs. Also Boyd was a hype job and people expected another All-American back and it didn't pan out. So, that didn't help perceptions.
Kinda disappointing that the national awards people already blew their load giving her player of the week titles for a mandatory kick off. Now if she gets a good field goal or something it'll just be oh another one. That's just participation trophies for you though
I agree with boss hog. Everybody in Fayetteville clutches their pearls when I say this, but Boyd's been a hype piece since day one. He may be a "big" back but he's never ran like one so it doesn't matter.
Breaking News: Arkansas defense doesn't have depth Yeah, man, we know. Half the team are walk-ons.
Halftime Adjustments?! Are we like a real football team again?
I agree SDS has got a little clickbait-y about this sort of stuff. Last week they had an article call "Arkansas Drops Epic Hype Video", it was a tweet of a highlight montage that was less than a minute and didn't have sound. Lane Kiffin as Thomas the Tank engine = Troll Generic Highlight from last home meeting = Not Troll
I'm pretty sure the punching and counter punching was in the Mizzou-Florida game
He did an interview with a local channel right after getting hired, and he made it seem like he kinda wanted to take a step back from the spotlight and just do his thing. So, unless he has a dream DC job or he isn't happy in Fayetteville, I doubt he'll leave.
