Loxodonta Alabama

I roll with the Tide. I kiss better than I cook. I rarely wear underwear, and when I do, it's usually something unusual. It is what it is. I am what I am. RTR

Seriously, man? Really? This is so nonsensical I'm not even sure it deserves a rebuttal. I'll just say that's not the mindset to have when you compete. I don't mean intentionally injuring someone seriously. But I do mean, within the rules, lay into them with all you have if it's a contact sport. Same thing applies for any meaningful competition. You go, go hard. Otherwise, don't even get on the bus. A supposed non contact sport like basketball, when there's a loose ball, as a coach, I should see nothing but arse holes and elbows. If I see someone on the other side of the court just standing around, or anywhere just standing around, he's grabbing some bench just as soon as the buzzer allows. I'm old now, and if I were to even play church softball it would be in the C league. The one where nobody cares. Because that's just fun with friends. But if I were two or three decades younger, you can bet your bottom dollar I'd be in the A League and I'd play just as all out as I did playing baseball. And that was Pete Rose all out. It's the only way I know how to play. Or, at least it was back then. If I went all out now, I'd heart attack running to first on what would be a close play even if I slapped it into the left field corner and it acted like a pinball and it took the fielder five minutes to chase it down. They still got a good chance. But, if I'm 18-24 and playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide, or anyone else, but ESPECIALLY if I'm blessed and honored enough to don that jersey, you're gonna get every ounce of energy I have on every play, so pack a lunch. You may beat me. But Sunday and Monday you'll know damned well you had to do it. The guy across from you didn't lay down. I'm sorry, man. I think your best bet is to just trash the article and pretend it never happened. Or start writing about home decor or flower beds and rose gardens. Nothing at all wrong with any of those things. I wish I knew more about all of them. Honestly, I do. As a bachelor, my place could use a nice touch like that. But it's just a different mindset. One, based on this article alone, which seems much more akin to your thinking process. One more example then I'm out. A few years back, and I have no idea what school it was or even what part of the state, my memory is shot. But a HS football team was playing their last regular season game of the year. I think it was a smaller school. 1A, 2A maybe 3A, again, I'm not sure. But the playoff system is so jacked up now that they let half the schools in, they were in a position where if they lost, they move to the playoffs, if they win, they stay home. So what would you do? Forfeit? Play, but none of your starters? Well, that particular coach took the proper approach, as I see it. His boys won that game. They played just like they would any game. Because that's what you're supposed to do, consequences be damned. If the system is jacked up, the system is jacked up. But you don't give less than your best to fit into the system. You give all you have and stand above the system.
