The truth is that the FPI is in no way a ranking of the teams or even a prediction of the season outlook for a team. Heck, if LSU finished 10th this season I'd be elated. This predictive modeling that the FPI gives is the result of adding math into what is ultimately a chaotic system that can't be predicted despite running 10,000+ simulations. Take things such as SOS, returning production, key losses/recruiting classes, and depth of positions and you can probably make a more accurate prediction model than the FPI because we understand the human side of football.
Not to diminish the effect that Jalen Hurts had on transforming the Alabama offense, but personally I think that Derrick Henry deserves the number one spot. I'm sure that some of you guys also remember Henry running over people like Leonard Fournette in 2015. Hats off to the Alabama DL stopping Fournette all those years, but no one was stopping Henry in 2015 without putting 8 men in the box. Also I fully expect Will Anderson to take that number one spot after this year.
It's even funnier when you consider the fact that BR high doesn't have a football team. I'll be nice and assume the writer meant a high school in Baton Rouge instead.
If the big 12 can pull this off, I'm curious to see what would become of the rest of the PAC. They'd still have some pretty big names in Stanford, Oregon, and Washington. However I don't think those teams can solely prop up an entire conference. I defintely don't see those teams staying if the PAC tries to replace their losses with group of 5 teams.
I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but is that not the injury that requires Tommy John surgery? If so, I highly doubt he returns to LSU or gets drafted in the first round as most pitchers that undergo it typically don't perform at as high of a level as they use to. I wish him a speedy recovery though and that he can prove me wrong at some point down the road.
I really wish the SDS Staff would have taken the minimal effort to link the GoFundMe page in this article. Luckily after 30 seconds of searching, I was able to find it. I'm unsure if I can put URL's in comments, but just to be safe you can search "Help Nugget get healthy" on GoFundMe. Please consider donating if you can.
