Did they say why? I think he is a great tradition, even if it's the corn dogs!
Wisconsin = cupcake? Is that based on whatever hallucinogenic you are imbibing now or that Alabama made them look like one last week? Sounds like you are in need of some common sense, boy.
I remember rumblings of rushing the field at the 84 Bama - AU "Bo wrong way game" in the student section. The upperclassmen told us in no uncertain terms "Rushing the field is for... them. Not us. We're Bama." The next year we didn't rush the field when Van Tiffin made the kick, either. Rushing the field is for the unwashed of the college football world.
I was at that game. No, we didn't.
Ten years ago #1 would have been Alabama. I am a Crimson Tide fan through and through, but DAMN some of our fans can be dense! Especially when Mike Shula "Is about to take us to the next level"
If you don't include the 1961 Alabama squad then this list is just stupid. 11-0 and national champions. 6 shut outs 25 points given up the entire season.
I put 4, but lucked into it. I forgot that Bama was already #1 when they beat Texas in the 2009 season BCS title game
What about Auburn astronaut Ken Mattingly, who had to miss flying on Apollo 13 due to illness, but was instrumental in helping the crippled mission return safely. Later flew on Apollo 16 and STS-4, where it was an all Auburn crew. And no Kenny "Snake" Stabler? Who could be more interesting!
Roman Harper hit as hard as anyone on this list.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why Wilbur Marshal and Leroy Jordan are not in the Pro Football Hall of fame. Their numbers and impact compare with any of the other LB inducted in the past, and quite well with some that may be inducted in the future!
I could have sworn that Leroy Jordan as an All-American at Alabama. Of course, it could have been at center, even though he was all-pro at LB... He is in the College Football Hall of Fame, which has the requirement that they have been named an All American at least once.
This guy right here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Hutson One of the best of all time, period.
Don Hutson not being on this list makes it a bit invalid. He was THE premier receiver in the formative years of the SEC! He is a charter member of both the Pro AND College Football Halls of fame. How could you forget him?
North Carolina chimes in at 11, showing the impact of basketball. I am truly surprised that Kentucky is not in this list. Oh, and where is the merchandise KING that is the "U" of Miami? Guess they only appear when they are winning. The ultimate in fair weather fans.
