He mentioned his time on the Hill several times when I watched. Given that his stint with the Hogs was 40 years ago, I never would've expected him to recall those years like he would his Irish years. As was mentioned before, that's where he won a NC and it was always his dream job. Far as I can tell, most Hog fans still love Lou and understand that this far removed from his time in Fayetteville, he wasn't gonna hark back on it as much as ND or much more recent stops.
Huh? No Arkansas fan wanted to lose the LSU game on TG weekend. Where are you getting this info? And Long publicly campaigned to keep LSU in that spot. I completely understand the reasoning behind the switch, but nobody in Arkansas was happy about it, I assure you. The whole "Border Line" rivalry was hatched after the decision was made and simply represents an attempt to create some kind of energy, or something, behind it. Both UA and Mizzou officials have stated publicly that it'll take a while for any kind of true rivalry to brew.
You have to remember that the Hogs still play a home game in Little Rock every year (capacity 54,000) and that skews the home attendance numbers somewhat.
