Since you're telling people "we live in a world of pussies who believe everyone has an opinion" as you give us yours. That's pretty funny. And Grimes doesn't "hit the coach who was trying to break it up". He upwardly hits Kelly's arm to remove Kelly's grasp of his shirt. That upward motion -- and therefore Kelly's own arm -- is what hits the other assistant coach. And his mouth never moves once Kelly comes at him, so I'm not sure where you get the "mouths 'f___you'" from.
alcompto ... I do not believe ekinggill88 is looking for sympathy for A&M in this matter. I believe we all have deep sympathy for the Stevens family. I believe his point is this… this is a heinous crime and a tragic follow-up perpetrated by a disturbed young man. But his association with A&M is weak. He was on campus for 2-3 months and walked off -- three years ago. To continue to say "former A&M wide receiver" makes the casual reader think of people who played a career at A&M like Mike Evans or Ryan Swope, not someone who quit the team and left school in October of his first semester in 2012. I only bring this all up because I have had friends unfamiliar with Johnson ask me, "What is going on at A&M?" And they are shocked to hear the response: "Oh, Johnson disappeared from campus in his first semester and was found in Dallas a few days later, and then quit the team. And school. That was in 2012." Their reaction: "Oh, I thought he was someone still around."
The question is: Should this be associated with A&M at all? This is a heartbreaking story consisting of a husband, a wife, and a person who attended A&M for 2-3 months three years ago. If a kid enrolls at a school, quits the school halfway through his first semester, and commits a crime three years later, should the school be forever linked to the kid? I have all the sympathy in the world for the Stevens family. Please do not misunderstand me.
What does New Mexico have to do with a story about the SEC schools and mascot headgear?
Question: If "Lee Corso says Aubrun is the ONLY school that doesn't allow him to put on their headgear," what does he put on for the SEC schools that don't have a mascot head gear? If a school doesn't have "headgear", how can he wear it?
C'mob people, it really isn't that hard to figure this stuff out. "Roll Tide" and the "Crimson Tide" aren't references to a oceanic wave or something like that (like the nickname at Tulane). Like many college nicknames, the name was given to the team by a sports writer who referenced the Alabama team looking like a "Crimson Tide" when it tied heavily-favored Auburn in 1907 on a field of red mud. And the Alabama fan's reference to Auburn's "two mascots" isn't that hard to figure out, either ... unless you just like being difficult. Sure, there is only one "true" mascot at Auburn (Aubie), but the flying of Nova (or Spirit) before football games gives Auburn the appearance of having two mascots – the tiger and the eagle. Even if "War Eagle" is only a battle cry, the use of a live eagle gives the rest of the nation the idea that there are two mascots. Is it really that hard to process?
