Well said ‘Class of 98.’ The only way Florida had even a remote chance of winning that game was to pull out all stops. I’m no great fan of Mullen as a coach, but at least he tried to be creative. Running all the “correct” plays at the “correct” times is a guarantee for a loss when a heavy underdog is playing a team like Georgia.
Swinney has to be losing his mind. Outside of their three scoring drives on offense, NC State ran 31 plays, gaining 33 yards, with nine punts. 202 yards of total offense for NC State.
They were fortunate to have beaten a lousy UCF team, in Norman, last Saturday. As much as I despise kU, seeing OU get beat is always a joyous occasion.
I do too, but the problem is the Missouri offense. There are going to be so many three and outs with that anemic Missouri offense, that the Missouri defense will be on the field constantly. Missouri’s defense will eventually wear down. Missouri doesn’t have the depth on defense to sub in, so their first team defense will eventually start to bend. Hopefully, it won’t break.
Spot on. The big difference is Missouri fans will be stuck with our lousy coach long after Auburn fans have seen the last of theirs. Plus, when Missouri finally moves on, the next coach will be another inexperienced, nobody, Drinkwitz clone. Rinse and repeat.
How does it make “perfect sense” to put an injured player back there to fair catch punts? Drinkwitz could have put any uninsured player…kickoff returner, receiver or defensive back…in there to do exactly the same thing. Drinkwitz basically destroyed Mookie Cooper’s first season at Mizzou by playing him when he was hurt last year. What would have happened if Burden fumbled the punt, and all of a sudden he’s in the middle of a scrum to recover it?
That’s an understatement. He thinks he’s the smartest man in the room, even though he’s only the smartest man in the room when he’s the only man in the room…and even then it’s debatable.
The fact that Lovett is doing as well as he is, despite having to rely on the worst QB in the SEC to get him the ball, shows what a talented receiver he is.
In his 27 games at Missouri, Drinkwitz has shown zero ability to learn from his mistakes. I have no confidence he will suddenly change.
He also might want to push away from the buffet a little sooner.
Missouri is over ranked. They should be #15, even though it’s a 14 team conference. “Bye” should be ranked at #14, just ahead of Mizzou.
He’s welcome to come to the University of Missouri…although I don’t wish that kind of pain on anyone.
You need to get some new material. That was fresh about 5 generations ago. Kind of pathetic…like you.
Of course they didn’t hire Vitello. To stay mired in mediocrity, they couldn’t make the logical hire. It’s a shame, because Mizzou used to have a pretty decent baseball program. Those days, obviously, are long gone. That’s why the Gates hire in basketball wasn’t met with overwhelming support. Missouri fans don’t trust the administration to do anything correctly. On the cheap, yes, correct, no.
Correct. He didn’t do something a good coach does, like instigate a fight at halftime of a game or wear a Darth Vader costume to a press conference. You know, the sorts of things a non-dork coach would do.
Agree 100%. At least Coach Mullen didn’t instigate a fight this year.
Drinkwitz has had one recruiting class of his own, 2021. This garbage defense is almost entirely composed of Barry Odom recruits. Odom was a nice defensive coordinator under Gary Pinkel, but he was a lousy head coach…and an even worse recruiter. It’s Odom’s inability to recruit that is the main reason Missouri’s run defense is hot garbage.
Another Arkansas genius, making another uninformed comment. This one...surprise, surprise...obviously knows nothing about the subject at hand, wrestling. Although, I have to admire the fact that he doesn’t seem to mind putting his ignorance out there for all the world to see.
The truth hurts. You seem to have a problem with the truth.
That leaves only three players from this year’s roster, Kobe Brown, Javon Pickett & Jordan Wilmore. Sean Durugordon, who is on the roster, is an incoming freshman who enrolled at the semester. They are losing five players to transfer, and four through graduation.
As a fan of a team that was in a conference that the University of Texas destroyed with their arrogance and greed, and their overwhelming need to run the Big 12 as Texas and the Other 11, it’s always a good day when the Longhorns fall flat on their overinflated egos. The University of Texas football, continually first in line for the Underachievement Hall of Fame. No program consistently does less with more.
35 months between SEC victories says it all, Sparky.
Nothing like a fan of a team that just ended a 20 game conference losing streak talking smack. No that’s funny.
