Even better, I think the guy that got hit was charged with a foul.
Same in MLB. Can't recall stats off the top of my head but I know the wild card series winners do better than #1 / #2 seeds in the divisional playoffs. Bats and arms go quiet in that week off.
When I was coaching HS, we had an all state pitcher get lit up by a team we would have run rules 9/10 times. Baseball happens….
So who are you going to believe: a father of a recruit or a media broadcaster? You must...choose wisely... ;)
A comment like this makes me think how I would be going to a "rival" school. Growing up a UF fan, could I go play for a UT, UGA, etc and be all in? Interesting psychology in play, for sure. (Un)fortunately, I wasn't good enough to get any recruiting love from any school so I didn't have to find out.
My prob with this article is how CG comes across as the smartest guy in the room, setting up anyone who disagrees with him as "lazy". For the most part, I would think people who get paid to be draft analysts would not be "lazy" (they could obviously disagree) because the more they mess up on their takes, the higher their chance of getting fired. Unlike, say, sports journalists who can make lazy takes all the time with no repercussions.

I may bring some bias here but it does seem that the eye of Sauron has had a heavy gaze on CBN since day one here at SDS.
Kids and their slang these days…
If you were to type “pedantic”, “Texas”, “championship”, and “article” into ChatGTP, it would produce this result.
GGL - I get you...not gonna try to convince you CBN is the answer but want to give you my take. I'm UF Alum (3rd gen) and lifelong Gator. I'm not a booster, so I've learned to simply enjoy (win or lose) UF athletics. My take is, these are people whom I've never met playing a game (all sports) that in the long run doesn't matter. As such, I will cheer for and support 100% those who willingly choose to coach / play at UF as long as they give their best and aren't an off-field embarrassment. I think CBN fits that mold. Win or lose, I'm going to support him, simply because I have no skin in the game and those types of decisions are out of my hands. As long as he's not lazy (CDM) or weird (CJM), he's my coach. Go Gators!
Guess there is something to keeping a geographic basis for a conference...
Their people got with his people and while those people talked, it probably turned out that some people believe that this people wouldn't work well with them people...
Attorney: Coach, I remind you that you are under oath. Did you have any prior knowledge of the so-called scheme of advanced scouting? CJH (in voice of Lumbergh from Office Space): Uhhhh, yeah, I'm just gonna watch the next couple of games from my couch. Y'all have a good day....
Like a bad boxing match where they knock each other out...
My irony / sarcasm interpreter is turn off at the moment after the day I've had. Not following. And Happy Veterans Day to you...
Prob fits some technical definition of targeting but have no idea what he should have done differently...
It has been awhile since I've been to an SEC game in Atlanta and that was at the GA Dome, but I went to a Falcons game last year at the Benz. I cannot imagine that the external atmosphere can match up with J-Ville simply due to the dynamics of where the stadium is located. That is one of my favorite parts of FL-GA--the acres of O/B and R/B that stretch for forever outside the stadium. For those who've been, how does SEC Champ game handle the "tailgate" type of atmosphere?
Guess the timing of article is because today is TP's birthday...
Unless they are only referring to the last 5 minutes of the UF-USC game, that is, in fact, a typo.
Neil, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.
That I get. The question is does “2-deep roster” equal starters or does “2-deep roster” equal starters + primary backup? I’ve always thought 2-deep included backups.
But then wouldn't that be 21/21 starters rather than 2-deep? Doesn't 2-deep include first backup?
Ok...need to ask now after seeing this stat multiple times. I'm not an idiot but the math is not "mathing" for me. 21 out of 24 on the 2-deep are FR/SO. IF the 2-deep is starter and back-up AND we have both an offense and defense (plus the random specialist), would that not be 44 spots (46 with specialists)? I've never seen that stat limited to one side of the ball. Can someone please tell me what I'm missing? And please be kind if it something obvious!! ;)
