Hope we get the opportunity to play later in the year. Rooting for Miss from here on out in the west.
Agreed. You play the game like dolly and keep comments to positivity related things, or you run your mouth and eventually get slapped for it. Personally with those types of endorsements, no one needs to know my opinions. Doesn’t matter whether they are logical, fact based, or off the wall crazy at that point. I hope yeezy has a good psychiatrist because you don’t say stupid ish like he is when your brain is working.
I’m quite favorable to Bobby Hill myself, but I think Beamers got great potential with some upgrades at positional coaching and scheme with coordinators(offense at the very least). USC is a lot of fun with Beamer at the helm, and I think that will go a long way with his future locker rooms.
I think Beamer is good head coach material. He can recruit well(needs to improve to be elite). The shortfall comes with positional coaches in this league. Playmakers will come, but dominating the lines makes you competitive every single Saturday. Coordinators and scheme have the next biggest. Satt sucks. Think Beamer makes USC fun and has great potential with the right hires.
Great game from y’all. Fun watching you run Judkins this year.
I think KY gave it it’s all. It was just a matchup nightmare. The bad: OC was high this game. Running between the tackles or 5 yard screens behind the line. 3rd and obvious, without an attempt to hide hot routes. O-Line coaching- Footwork was bad. Physicality lacking. Zero second half protection adjustments. By game 8 this is no longer a personnel issue. WR coaching- keep running, Levis had time 5-7 times but the WR’s stopped after routes. Blocking for those screens to have a snowball’s chance. Those things are developed QB- never moved secondary off with his eyes and a rough day, but his OC set him up for that. LB-Never got good pass rush. Ineffective in running game. No adjustments 2nd half. Good: Pass D- your secondary did the best job stopping the passing attack we’ve seen. Best secondary we will see all year. DL-gave us more issues in pass pro than Bama could. Runs stopped early, were because this unit could go back and forth with our O-line. Corners-when they weren’t messed up on assignments by scheme, Hooker didn’t have a ton of options. RB’s-run game was not their fault. Zero fumbles. Think Stoops is a great coach with a poor staff this year. Expect a much tougher game up there next year. Keep your heads up, there’s another big game with UGA later on and a back half of the season to look forward to.
I think the O-line did Gibbs and young, no favors, but you don’t just pull those guys, with the talent there to develop that’s 100% coaching for that unit. Seeing KY’s lines I thought he was good, now I get why all the KY fans I know we’re happy to see that hire. On the D yea line wasn’t great, but what was the effect when they actually brought the LB’s. If you have a backup that can cover zone just well enough but can pass rush effectively, I’d take him over what’s there. Any secondary member not named Moore or Koolaid should be challenged. There’s bigger problems though. I also hate watching BoB call these unnecessarily hard to execute plays, but BY is capable, I don’t doubt your next qb will do it too, but none there now can. On D what did Golding actually change about his Secondary. How did he change how he wanted to attack the game. His answer was needs more zone and straight man-to-man against a qb on heisman watch, letting my boys run it effectively and be a balanced team, and saying yea the corners will deff succeed in tight man to man this time on the outside.
Florida is most definitely a blue-blood. 2 nattys in the late 00’s, and an expectation more years than not of winning the East. You’re program is one even if you haven’t played like it last 2, and even then how long has the rest of us had to wait to compete for Atlanta. That Status is decided by the last half century and if people can remember fearing to play your team and getting beat for an extended period with some level of success. FL, GA, TN can say that AL, LSU can say that Auburn lately has been a 5 win team or a ten win team but they’ve left their mark even if they haven’t seen the stretches, so I’d add them too. SC, Mizz, Vandy, Tucky, state of MS, Ark, TAMU still have a bit of mountain climbing and some stretches of 9-10 win stability to go. We’re definately the closest to losing it m, but while your parents and grandparents talk about how tough a game TN used to be, that remains true until those generations are gone.
Wouldn’t be a big moment if it was easy, and wouldn’t mean as much if we hadn’t seen what true mediocrity looked like. Look forward to matching up again whenever we do, hopefully giving everyone a game worth watching.
Can’t tell you how much I appreciate you deciding to sign a contract to share Auburn Jesus. It legitimately feels weird coming out on top in close games or showing up to the ones that matter, I’m lucky all that cardiac training watching the last decade is paying off.
I’ll give an argument rather than say you suck gbo. You don’t match up well with us, especially this year. Stoops teams excel when they protect the football, the game is tight, and you dominate the trenches. It’s what has allowed y’all to beat teams with better talent in past years like Florida because you keep it close. You throw more this year like last but your O-line has only run blocked Florida and MS State for one half each so far. They’ve given up 21 sacks as well compounded by a -11 turnover margin. Us both avg. 5/carry isn’t great for your chances, you should be getting 7-9 if you want this to be competitive. I think you can beat us. Our corners couldn’t defend a Shirley temple from a tiny pink umbrella. Your freshman wide outs are studs. What hurts that happening is our run defense is good holding teams under 100 and our pass rush has also been great when they aren’t running past Alabama’s qb. You’re defense is great. Especially the pass D. You can cover a star receiver or two with those really solid guys, but there’s also McCoy, Keyton, and a heisman hopeful throwing the Rock. It should be competitive for 2 or 3 quarters if you come into the first immediately firing on all cylinders though.
To inject some positivity here, I think you get over the GA hump if Levis is healthy, and you don’t lose the TO battle badly. You saw what they did against Mizzou’s D and your offense shouldn’t leave your D out to dry. Just need a good game from the O-line and it’s doable looking at their 3 previous weeks. The other defenses they have faced have been SC, Vandy, Kent st, and Auburn.
I absolutely believe Kirby made the right choice last year. Stetson stayed calm cool and collected, and yes it lead to a national championship ring, congratulations to the dawgs. Any Bama fans saying he wouldn’t be good enough for most of Bama’s would you take a look at those rosters vs who they played, and tell me he couldn’t have done well enough outside of Tua’s or Coker’s. Does he beat a Texas squad without their starting qb for the last 3/4? Yes LSU that couldn’t manage a point? Yea Notre Dame that clearly wasn’t close to y’all? Yes Ohio state that could only manage 7 points second half given an NFL line, Devontae, Najee,Metchie, Waddle, and Robinson? Yes With that said, a good number of QB’s could have got it done in those games with those Tide teams. If GA fans want to scream Natty to the roof let them. Your point still stands and whether it’s with us against our DB’s that couldn’t cover soup or Y’all with whatever the **** Golding is doing he’s gonna have to show he can.
You nailed it. Football is boring when “any given Saturday” fails to still happen. Fans stop being passionate. As much as I enjoyed the LSU win, I did not enjoy seeing an empty stadium midway in the 3rd quarter. If you asked me if I could enjoy Alabama’s success I and every fan here would only say yes. I also know that it would absolutely poison my fan experience when I only get to look forward to 2 games a year that mean anything and only 3-4 on average are competitive. I’ve honestly come to enjoy the yearly heart attacks.
Oh yea G43 I somehow had confidence that we would do it that game. Against a cleaner Bama that game gets tough and I’m not confident we do it twice. I think our rush could do a little better to actually slow down and cash some sacks, but the corners still wouldn’t be able to stop a cubs team from the 90’s. The O could be perfect but I doubt it. Could we? Sure Likely? No Do I want the rematch? Absolutely
I think whoever got to coach Florida this year was gonna have a very rough 1st season. For all the lack of talent or depth, I’m happy Napier can find a way to motivate a historically unmotivated team when faced with adversity down the stretch. I’m not sure Deion could be the center of attention and succeed like Spurrier, but I would find it very entertaining if I was wrong.
Is that judged by spending now? If so I’d even call them elite. Sorry A&M fans, contract hell is a rough place. Do any of y’all believe in Jimbo currently? Genuinely curious
The reasons Butch was so awful was personnel management, not making simple adjustments in game, running an offense or a defense up to it’s capabilities, destroying any locker room culture, and not being able to develop the best recruits we ever had. This team doesn’t have talent, they have development. Go watch Hooker at VT between benchwarming sessions, do you remember Hyatt’s 21 catches for 200yds and 2 TD’s last year, we still have 5/carry with objectively less line talent and better pass block. Our corners couldn’t cover soup if they had 3 rolls of seran wrap, we lost talent and the cupboards are bare yet the same front 7 minus Butler give up 50 less running yards a game so we only give up the same number of yards a game, that’s development and you can’t coach speed the secondary will get gashed no matter what. You only beat a phenomenal team like Bama because you can coach and make adjustments effectively(and some luck), but even having that game for us be a coin flip where we break a 113 year old record tells you everything. I don’t see why you’re remotely worried about Martin. I’m very nervous for KY like every SEC game but I’m not worried about Kentucky with a banged up Levis and the worst O-line they’ve ever fielded under Stoops. We will play close games, but there’s not a good reason to start doubting them now. We are allowed to be disappointed against UGA, where losing really wouldn’t be a disappointment in my eyes unless Our O comes out running the wishbone.
Idk, I think the maturity(discipline) was required to even be competitive, poise(fight) was there to win and the experience was gained the last four weeks that is required. I still think you could be right and we just stumble a couple games. Where I wholeheartedly disagree is talent. We don’t have it. We will in time, but we are not a talented *team*. On D who would start for UGA or Bama or even KY? Banks could be 2nd team at a stretch. Byron young or Thomas might be good enough to start on KY’s 14th ranked D, and that’s it. On O if we say UGA or Bama we have 5-6 guys, about half. O-line-Carvin at either, Hooker could start at GA. Tillman/Hyatt anywhere. Bru and Key could be 2nd team, Bru poss 1st. That said, I still think we have a great chance to beat KY with its worst O-line play we’ve ever seen, and a shot at GA if our scheme can shred them like we have everyone so far. That just speaks to the amazing staff we have to develop them and coach game plans to this level, and understand the talent and depth *will* get better with time as they continue to perform at this level.
I bet he can with your talent at UGA. I also bet that he would give you a better shot in a track race. If you don’t have a straight terrible game vs either hail or Kats I don’t think Kirby has to look around and read the room. I don’t see why you would though against weaker O-line and banged up Levis, or Leach’s secondary which will give him his favorite throws. Gonna be an exciting game come November. I don’t think the mailman is terrible by any means and could absolutely beat us. I also think the extra plays that have to be ran to move the ball and match us if we score at will, allow for many more errors to be made and is what gives us a shot.
Ehh I think KY would have a great shot at us if they had an O-line this year. Without that their style of ball set’s them back. For it to work, they can’t turn the ball over(they have, a lot). They also can’t get behind in a game by more than 2.5 scores. Their D is great. I think it’s better than UGA’s has looked so far. But can they stop our scheme. So far, against more talented players the answer is no, but who knows since I think KY’s D is better coached. Last year was a resounding no, so I’ll go with what I know there.
I think it gives us a chance to uproot Florida’s traditional spot as Georgias hardest game. I don’t need TN to beat the dawgs this year(Where talent on campus is T-7th in SEC), though I would take it. We all know TN can’t play D to a respectable level against elite competition. If I do see Heupel’s scheme shred a great D that isn’t a once in a quarter century D this year, then I know we have a fantastic chance to do it again regularly in 2 years. Still can’t believe anywhere from 10-2 to playing 13 games+ is a reasonable expectation. Wild. Think LSU has a shot in the future if Brian Kelly can fix the Locker room, his special teams play, and run an offensive scheme that’s effective for 4 quarters(vs. at least better than this UF D). LSU relied on its defense through its best seasons outside of 19’, and I think they return to being that type of team.
I think they do to a degree. I think the false starts get cleaned up. I think the players execute better from a player lead effort. Some things are tougher. Bill O’Brien calling plays that don’t force young to be perfect and hit minuscule windows won’t change. The O-line play is waaaaaay weaker than it should be for Bama and that’s on the new O-line coach a georgia/ms st/LSU d-line becomes lethal. Golding needing to run stunts up front or adjust his secondary, think corners are much better than they showed. Whoever is coaching your D-line though has them playing like they did week 1. That said, I still think your team is still absolutely phenomenal and those things would only hold you back in the playoff. I think you win the west and whoever makes it out of the east. We are tied for 7th in recruiting talent on campus. Expecting not a single stumble and a win over UGA is a lot. They can, but it would be much harder for us than you. Hope we get the opportunity to match up again this year.
I’ve had that type 1 AC injury during my wrestling career off a bad reverse. Your strength for anything with your arm is not the same for any motion above the shoulder after 2 weeks even with the best PT in the world. If you play him you got 8-12 good throws or 1-2 deep balls at the most. I guarantee you he probably feels fine since it’s a ligament. I also guarantee you a 10 yard pass makes it 3/4 of the way there whenever he hits that point. I feel that having competed through it everyday years later. I hope Bryce does not.
Thanks, it has been. I’m glad the east is fun to watch again. Congrats on the current state of UGA. While you didn’t have the same lows, I know you had all the frustration for a bit there.
God bless our fan bases the next few weeks. I’m more hopeful for this team than 2016’s. Less talent this year compared(Tied for 7th based on recruits). Superior game planning, adjustments, and personnel usage. That’s invaluable though I’m still optimistic at best. Bama means the most it has in a long time this weekend.
I like the Black too. Wasn’t wild about the grey look even if I like what it represents.
Looking forward to a competitive game in Nov. I think the loser has an easier path to playoff if we get past Bama this weekend.
I had Young’s injury during my wrestling career off a bad reverse. Only two weeks out from a type I, you feel fine until you have to use it for overhead motions(like throwing the ball) continuously. He probably has 10-15 throws in him before he loses strength off throws if they don’t rest him. If Bill O’Brien schemes for Milroe like he did tonight, Bama will have trouble. If O’Brien actual plans for a run first qb, then we’ll have a back and forth game against them in Neyland.
Doty might be better than the turnover machine, but you’ve planned around Rattler through offseason and 6 games. I also guarantee you he goes back to Old Rattler, destroys locker room chemistry, and is even worse if you have to turn back to him or Doty gets hurt. Your ship is tied to Rattler this season.
