mrtruth, You may think its "No big deal" but it might just be a big enough deal to sway people to think that Texas A&M's narrow season opening victory over Vanderbilt was not as bad as people originally thought and that the head to head victory over Florida is legit enough that the CFP committee would see A&M a better choice than UF for the 4th position in the CFP.
I agree with Tiger, this will be an interesting game but I'm of the opinion that it will be Texas A&M's offense making more plays in the end. I see A&M's receiving corp overwhelming the Bama defense. A&M has 4 receivers that can take it to the bank and Alabama can't cover them all. If Bama can't put some serious pressure on Kyle Allen then he will pick them apart. A&M doesn't have to have the best OL to protect Allen. They just need to slow the Bama DL enough to get Allen the time to throw the ball. If A&M's offense gets rolling (pun intended) I can't see Coker and Ridley making up enough offense to beat A&M. It will be a fun game but I see Texas A&M winning this one.
I'm not surprised by Stan's position favoring Alabama. Remember, he's a contributing writer for SDS specializing in Alabama and Auburn football. If he was doing Texas and Texas A&M then he would probably have a Texas bent. All the Aggies need to remember is that the majority of college pundits favor Texas A&M over Alabama. As one commenter has already said...the game has to be played and anything can happen on gameday. Gig em.
So the claim of DBU goes to the school that had players drafted in the NFL in the last decade? I always thought the kids went to the school they felt comfortable with and had a relationship with their position coaches. In the last decade that position coach was John Chavis. Before LSU can continue to call themselves DBU lets see how the new players play for DC Kevin Steele. That will be the real test for whether LSU can truly be called DBU.
The Texas Aggies are just now learning to evaluate talent in the SEC and are spreading their influence over a wide area, not just Texas. From what I am understanding they are being more deliberate as to who they offer to now and not rushing to recruit just anybody. They don't have many commitments now but the important thing is that they are in the "Top 10" or the "Top 5" for a lot of 4 and 5 star players who are still deciding. Its still a long recruitment process so it will be interesting to see how things develop.
