Right. Wins are only weighted if they count the way we want them to, I guess. Perhaps part of the reason Bama was struggling was because Texas was kicking their butt up and down the field for four quarters?
So there is zero reward for playing and winning a challenging OOC game like Texas v. Alabama? Then what's the point? It doesn't matter when the game took place, results on the field have to count.
Does Deion fit A&M really? The whole premise is flawed.
If by "I'm Overreacting To" you actually mean "I'm Not Using Critical Thinking Skills", I agree, specifically concerning Mizzou. A SEC record 61 yard FG against a rival you've had 99 meetings with in a SEC vs. Big XII non-con game is hardly meaningless and still looks poised to remain among the better SEC out of conference wins before bowl season. The loss to LSU not withstanding, any sane Mizzou fan would take a 6-1 record at this juncture, no questions asked. Just a few paragraphs before you were preemptively scolding UK fans about wanting to run Stoops off and being mindful of realistic expectations. But, somehow, last night at Homecoming it was UK that lost its composure and a ballgame to a better team but it's Mizzou that lost all the momentum because of a tough one to swallow. If I didn't know better, I would swear that it was Mizzou that's in the middle of a meltdown and hasn't beaten anyone and hasn't affirmed that it is moving in the right direction based upon what passes for insight here. For sure, the toughest games are to come and the degree of difficulty is ramping up massively but are you going to believe what your predeterminations are or what your lying eyes are telling you?
The 2008 Cotton Bowl never happened? Mizzou 38 - arkie 7.
Of all the BS, hokum, and revisionist history that clogs comments sections such as these like a toilet at the Pilot Travel Center, you are absolutely correct. Hiring the right guy is much harder than most think it is. It's also worth noting that a guy can be fine coach and in the totally wrong situation. If it were as easy as the commenting class believes it to be, there would be a lot of folks wasting their talents at their day jobs when obviously running an athletics department or running a consulting firm is their true talent.
It is true that Mizzou's spending on baseball is a fraction of what top tier SEC baseball programs spend, however Bieser had seven seasons and roughly a .333 winning percentage in conference. The situation being what it is, he had a fair shot.
Not without his degree he won't. Maybe he can catch on mowing the grass for the state or something but that's about it.
Curious at what point being a serial portal registry user begins to be perceived as a negative. The obvious answer it that it depends on how much the dude can help you win but...
100% on the mark. This new era will make those who derided college fans as "rooting for the laundry" seem more prescient than ever. The men's college game has virtually been destroyed by this and the one and done rule. As a fan, the joy of watching a team come together over a period of time and grow into something as the talent matures is gone. Now, unless you happen to have an ultra-wealthy NIL group or groups to backstop your program, in the event other universities are able to find talent better than yours, just wait a year and buy it. Look at USC. ou's QB, Pitt's WR, Oregon's RB. It's already happening. Please, tell me again how this is great for the game and in my best interests and I actually do support and love it.
No they don't. They got exactly what they paid for and then bid against themselves to drive up the price for that clown with the insane extension in 2021.
Not even the most irrationally exuberant Vandy fan trying to troll us would go that far.
Also - Urban Meyer would have exactly zero interest in a job at Mizzou. His time in Jax sucked but he's still highly regarded as a college coach. Petrino would be a much more reasonable target given his, em, station in life.
Drink's decision to take a knee twice knocking on the door of the end zone in regulation to set up the missed field goal instead of trying to score the TD to presumably put the game to bed is some of the worst, most-cowardly coaching any of us have seen in some time. Playing not to lose gets you beat so often, and it did again. Peat wasn't playing smart but at least he was trying to make a play when he fumbled in OT. The end of the 4th quarter is just inexcusable. It's not about whether or not it was Auburn's best effort or not, it's about how the HC failed his team.
Just stop. Every time Mizzou wins anything it’s not because we did anything right but it’s only a case of a blind squirrel finding an acorn. Mullen was a big mouth and wrote a bunch a checks he couldn’t cash. Just leave it there.
Don't you suppose Mike Shula would have fixed Alabama if the impatient people there had just given him more time? It's way too early to start reaching any long term conclusions about whether or not Sark will cut it but I'm sure there were probably a few people who were ready to fire the great Nick Saban after he lost to ULM by a touchdown in Bryant-Denny. No one has been run out of UT on a rail after a bad season.
This is supposed to be fun, isn't it? I'm pretty sure that Steve Wilks isn't bad as a DC because he's spending too much time on social media campaigns.
He was a very good DC in Carolina. He got one year as a HC with a bad organization at the time in the NFL. I don’t think that’s anywhere near large enough sample size. This isn’t an X’s and O’s problem, it’s a Jimmys and Joes problem. Most of guys out there were came onboard during the tenure of “our good DC”.
Seriously, "Tulsa started it" is any sort of an excuse? How about don't kick someone when they're down and then run away and brag about it later. That sort of behavior can't be justified.
I've read a lot of stupid sh!t on these boards over the course of the season but yours is by far the winning remark.
