I think they will be lucky to get to that “dreaded” 8-4 this year. I’m not finding 8 wins, or really even 7, across their remaining schedule.
You’re grasping with these comments. A&M is not very good this year. Look at your remaining games and find just 5 games you can confidently say you should win. And you’re about to face one tough stretch that is coming at the worst time for you. Sorry, but I don’t see you guys winning another game until South Carolina.
Ainias Smith is one of the best players in college football. I will be happy and relieved when he goes pro.
I agree with you completely. MSU is underrated. My power rankings have you guys at #6 - not that my opinion means anything at all. You look pretty even with Arkansas, but since that is my school, I gave them the #5 :)
It's the focus on the long ball, man. They had to make sure to nail down the big plays before getting the basics down. Everyone knows that that's the game plan for playing weaker opponents! Especially when you still have somewhat of a QB battle going on. DUH!
Ohhhhhhhh, so it was planned to take the day off with your run game, blocking, and intermediate passing? Must be it. It seemed to me like you had to resort to the big play because that's all that was working. And even then, King got picked off twice. Against a far inferior FCS opponent. Your defense can probably save you in this game regardless - I'll give you that. You're not "crushing" any team left on your schedule (not named UMASS) with that kind of play on offense though.
Indeed, it was not a glamorous win...by any means. And you have a great point in that it was not very smart to be running KJ as often as we did. However, Arkansas was neither outplayed nor outcoached in this game. You can look at the entire game and see that we went with a conservative game plan because that gave us the safest path to victory. We didn't do anything more than we needed to - a luxury that we are not quite accustomed to yet. Sure, Cincy made some noise there towards the end... but did you ever feel like the outcome was in question? Those types of things are what you find in great teams. Are we good enough to be considered great? Well, that remains to be seen (and also depends on what you consider as great). But do remember that you have fanbases, coaches and analysts all over the country considering this Arkansas team up there with some of the best. It's no longer just the delusional homers advocating our success and that speaks volumes. Get ready for a fun season, my dude. I am confident that your outlook will shift in the coming weeks. WPS!
Texas always has the talent on paper. Looks like they are set up for a better year and their offense should be enough to keep them ahead in Big 12 shootout type games. Having said that, I feel like Bama is too strong on both sides of the ball for this game to be competitive. I don't see this game ever being in question, from start to finish.
I actually think Vandy deserves higher. Was tough to put them last.
I honestly thought Glenn was generous to TAMU in this article. I like A&M just fine most years, but I did not see a #6 team out there on Saturday. Just my opinion.
If they trot out that same offensive effort, I actually like App State over TAMU right now.
