No one is interested as no one cares. Razorback fans got hurt too many times when they cared. A winning means little, losing or even a close game, it will mean something. Stay tuned for the Mizzu game.
Enos should apply for jobs ASAP, because Razorback foundations will surely conduct many due diligences on his job search activities. That's the direction nobody wants to go. Meanwhile, Arkansas football can finally get a chance to go back to what has been making them successful in 2021/2022 offensively. Do not expect great elevations for the remaining games, but games should be more tolerable to watch.
Very few anticipated such bad football in SP's Year# 4, especially the problem rooted in OL and offense. DE is not entirely new to AR football, as he was here a few years ago under BB, with an average offense record. Fast forward to today, it appears DE lacks talents, motivations, and commitments to continue as OC. His behaviors outside of football but related to football have been troubling. Less than one hour after his offense's abysmal display at a big stage in Arlington TX against the Aggies, he engaged in email exchanges with four different students in jokingly manners about football plays. Yesterday's game should present a very clear picture to Arkansas football decision makers about what to do next.
MS is not a push over and Razorbacks is not a solid team at all. Until 11:00 am this Saturday, we have no idea which version of Razorbacks will be presenting. Is it the team nearly upset the almighty Alabama on the road or the one loses to BYU at home? Folks are optimistic because the Alabama game is still fresh. But please brace yourself for a very close game, too close to feel any comfortable at all. I give it what it deserves a 50/50 ball game.
Arkansas plays into the opponents they play against. I do not think the root of AR football lies with HC, although SP shares some responsibilities. The problem lies with OC, which is a surprise because DE was not entirely new to this. We are half way through the season and the jury is still out. BTW, I noticed that Mizzou fans start to pay attention to AR football. Your guys have a very good season so far and a HC with an interesting name. Start to worry about your forthcoming trip to Fayetteville AR or what not?
Pittman was a good coach, rescuing AR football from historically unprecedented low under Chad Morris. That said, this result is unanticipatedly bad under the 4th year Pittman. Defense made great progress, special team plays well. Problem lies with Offense under Dan Enos and OL, and ultimately it lands on HC Pittman. To avoid being fired, Pittman needs to win at least two wins (one with FIU and one with any remaining SEC team). Things get muddy if he secures only one win against FIU. And he probably will be summarily dismissed if he loses all remaining games.
The only thing Chad Morris is doing is to develop a facade he is actively looking for comparable employment, per his contract with UARK at his dismissal. This is perhaps the last year of his 3 year 4 million per year payout. I speculate Chad may land himself a financial advisor type of work after this. After all, he was a Math major at college.
Arkansas football must retire LR game ASAP until a new SEC caliber stadium is built there. With 50k + seats, the WMS is basically a large high school football field, and attendance is even more spotty. Unfortunately with economic conditions as they are in LR, and a small state as Arkansas, I do not expect a large and modern football stadium anytime soon there. Hogs should start to play true home game at Fayetteville AR, and true away games, along with a home/away game in Jerry's World.
On paper, Arkansas is a better team, talents and depth, etc. But it is a distance between "should win" and "did win," which is why college football is so fascinating. Liberty is a very good team, and they just have an additional week to prepare for this battle. Arkansas can never underestimate this level of opponent. I predict the game would be much closer than most of the other projections.
Bowl berth? LSU will probably forfeit whatever bowl invites it will get, after the scandal, mishandling, and firing of the head coach. This LSU team really does NOT have much to play for, other than the emotional victory and prides for the program. Having said that, LSU is more talented and have many 4-5 star recruits. When that potential unleashed, even for moral/prides, it will be a tough battle. Plus this is at their stadium, a night game with fans blaring. Arkansas has a chance to win, and if they did, they will be top 10 bound in playoff ranking.
I am also a Razorback fan, but I need to caution everybody about this Mizzou team. They may not be as high profile as Alabama or Florida, but they are always very good and competitive team. Razorback football has not been very good lately, but under the current coaching team that is brilliant, they are doing great so far with what they have. This will be very good and close game, possibly down to the last possession.
