Henry didn't outshine Chubb. Bama outshined UGA. Overall, Henry moved the pile a little more than Chubb, but for the most part, they were about even for the day. Neither dominated or took over the game. You can make the argument Chubb had a lot of his yards on one carry. You can also make the argument Chubb didn't cough the ball up and had a better yds per carry. Henry did well, but it would be more accurate to say Bama's O-line did a better job against UGA's defense than UGA's did against Bama's.
Seriously?? How can you get it wrong about a key player [Lorenzo Carter] being out?
"Georgia dropped one spot after thumping Southern Saturday, but that everything to do with LSU moving up." I don't think that is grammatically correct.
Zing?? Perhaps he was saying, it's not all about having a top ranked recruit, rather whoever can get it done. We're going overboard anytime the HBC speaks (particularly about UGA) aren't we?
The epitome of wannabe analyst/broadcaster. Every time Matich is on someone's show or allowed to speak, he blurts out something bizarre. Two days ago he was on the First Team's morning show with Greg McElroy and Taylor Zarzour explaining how the Florida job wasn't that great of a coaching opportunity.
You know what matters? Fumbles matter. Interceptions matter. Injuries or suspensions to key players matter. And these analysts don't know how any of those are going to happen. UGA lost at South Carolina in Columbia two years ago, so they'll lose this year. Are you kidding me?? UGA will beat Clemson because they have them in Athens and Clemson lost Watkins and Boyd. That's the logic by "analysts" everywhere. Auburn was within an eyelash of having two more losses last year. And two plays had gone slightly different last year, I guarantee Auburn would be around #10-12 in the preseaon polls. Those two plays make Auburn that much greater (or had they gone the other way, that much worse)? Of course not. Let me get on the UGA soapbox. Riddled with injuries, UGA almost beat Auburn. And everyone thinks UGA is less equipped this year? HA! I truly can't wait.
It gets old reading analysts who just go with what happened last year, trends, and what the current party line is of other reporters. Everyone thinks we're just going to pick up where we left off last year or that we'll just average the teams performance over the last two or three seasons with the most recent year weighted a little heavier, subtracting slightly for players who graduated or were drafted, adding for those who have more returning, and maybe a little bump for home field. All you "pyschics" will have new predictions after week two, backpeddling and shuffling your opionions based on your calculations of the first two weeks (throwing the previous year's data out the window). After a dozen games, you'll finally have a sense of who the better teams are. "Analysts" HA! It's the same every year.
