When our fans far outnumber the opposing team’s, regardless of location, or contribute to the atmosphere and “feel” of the game, this is the Dude Effect.
These comments from Vols fans are a breath of fresh air. So much toxicity and lack of sportsmanship has often left me tired. Kudos to y’all, and thanks for the positivity!
Congratulations. I wasn’t aware that jokes based on unfounded stereotypes create reality.
I logged on to say that exact thing to that UGA fan. ? We could lose the game, and still be able to give them hell.
That requires glasses in a shade outside of rose.
Maybe he's trying out for RB since we couldn't figure out a starter last year.
According to SDS, basketball isn't on any SEC fan's mind; unless you're for Kentucky or UF. I had no idea some of the games I've watched were all a farce, and that while watching them I wasn't thinking of basketball at all; I was thinking of football. Sorry, I'll stop it now and add something more relevant to the actual topic. Sirmon is great, but I've got a feeling that we should be talking a little more about Brian Baker, too.
You do have a point. Unfortunately the West always seems to devour itself and long enough for Bama to wipe off cobwebs and kick it into gear. Unfortunately, these days we get them when they hit that 5th gear. If LSU can remember what a QB is and OM can pull out a ridiculous three-peat against Bama, November will be full of fun Saturdays. I'm excited to see what our stable of QB's can do. I felt like Wilson jumped the gun, and he did, but don't count us out of a 7-9 win season. The Aggies are a sleeper for me. Of course every year I count AU out, they end up in a ship. Heck, who even knows in the West. I firmly believe the East is going to be harder than it has been; this is the reason I put our fellow statesmen above UT. As you mentioned UGA will be in it, UF is a toss up, but SC might put a damper on some things. Vandy was fun to watch last year, as well.
I'm a State fan, but can still say putting UT (maybe LSU) over TSUN is a stretch.
I'm in the same district as Akers. Don't count out State. As history tells us though, you're smart to do so anyways. Love how the rivalry has built up. Good for the state that needs them. I respect Freeze for his remarks after the Egg Bowl. He's a brother in Christ; though I wish people would stop shoving that down my throat for the glory of OM and not God.
Thank you for the rational response. Congrats on the killer class.
Apparently pro accolades are a factor. Considering Dak broke the majority of the records involved, his pro career must have to factor into this. I get Conerly, but to say Archie didn't have a good pro career and then include Steve McNair because of his pro career is a joke. Steve was great in college in the SWAC (R.I.P.) and I remember crying over the Titans losing in that Super Bowl (I was a child in love with football), but you can't drop Dak to sixth. That's a joke. Archie was amazing in college. He got a bad deal being with the "Aints." If this is based on college accolades, Dak is 3rd or 4th. By the way, Southern didn't fly banners of Favre again until after he retired. They hated him. He was a jerk at the bars, and pulled it out for a release because of liquid courage. Thanks for showing me with the past couple of posts why you are completely biased towards other teams with major journalism degrees. Please note I put two Ole Miss QB's ahead of Dak before you attack me.
You're the kind of Ole Miss fan I become friends with. Enjoy the rivalry. Don't hate the people who do hate the team that wants to beat you for the top spot in your state. We're all brothers, cousins, mothers, to a State/Ole Miss fan. I've done wrong, and have had wrong done to me (as recently as Christmas 2015). I've found it much more enjoyable to talk rationally to rivals, and still cuss them behind closed doors. A good friend of mine was the drum captain at Ole Miss last year, and we've found we enjoy the rivalry on a completely different level. If both teams are killing it, our state's biggest hate party becomes more important. That equals more success for both teams.
As a State fan, I thoroughly love Saban's responses. I just wish he would come up with a new persona now. Instead of aloof, maybe he could be ebullient. He is selling himself short on his dramatic experience.
Half of the six are Dan Mullen products, as well.
