Just an Auburn Tiger fan, SEC fan, and huge college football fan. Also a machinist specializing in Swiss Lathes when I am not immersed in college football.

The reason isn't unknown. The reason is Ashford can't throw. They obviously had to start throwing or the clock would run out with all the run plays. Right now, Thorne or Ashford just isn't the answer at QB. There may not be an answer, but both those guys have major flaws that hold the team back.
I mean...yeah... Any Auburn fan expecting a drastic turnaround hasn't been paying attention. It goes back further than Harsin too, but he is the main thing. Gus neglected, or just flat out failed, recruiting the trenches. Especially on the offensive side. So Harsin and Co come in and have some talent at the skill positions. Instead of tweaking a system to fit the players he has, he implements a system totally wrong for the personnel (See: Gene Chizik 2012 team). So that turns your 5 star QB into a QB running for his life more than half the time he is asked to drop back. Ugliness ensues and then said QB leaves knowing the system and coaching style is doomed to fail. Harsin continues to be an ass to everyone around him and rub every single person he can the wrong way and gets fired after half the team transfers out. Now here we are with Hugh Freeze having to cobble together something resembling a team after 2 coaching staffs made epic blunders on their way out. Anyone who follows knew this is going to be one of the most challenging rebuilds in recent SEC history. There was so much that brought the program down before he arrived that it wasn't going to be easy for anyone to build it back quickly. But he has started off on the right track. Just has to keep plugging away.
I did google his record out of curiosity: 2-14 in conference play at Arky. Lol
I don't have time to google their SEC records and percentage, but I'm willing to bet Malzahn's is better. Bielema is a good coach and, I think, has the program trending in the right direction. I just think he needs to boost his conference resume before he starts taking shots at anyone. I think Derek Mason and McElwain are the only coaches he has more SEC victories than. So fire away at those guys, or shut up and win games.
Well this year maybe two halves, instead of just one, of Jeremy Johnson torching his secondary will shut his fat mouth about AU. He needs to win a few more conference games before spouting garbage about other teams. I understand it was at an Arky function, but he hasn't earned the right to toss jabs in anyone's direction, not just Auburn. Just my opinion though. Lol @ the outrageous expectations in Fayetteville for winning a couple games (finally)
Heard on the radio the other day that Coach Garner used the phrase "the de-recruitment starts in summer/fall camp for these highly touted guys". Lol never heard it put that way, but it makes sense.
All the hype for Jeremey Johnson, and he is not on the top 1000 list of POSSIBLE draftees? Hmmm
