If A&M has indeed given Chavis a similar offer to what he has on the table at LSU he also can consider the lack of state income tax in Texas as an addition to his net income. So even with an identical offer, Chavis will stand to take home more money than if he stays at LSU. According to the interwebs, Louisiana has a cap at 6% income tax. I'm no mathematician but 6% of 1.3 million is double what I make in a year (sobs into pillow). So thats a decent chunk of change to consider. That being said, I do think that his track record shows that he is pretty loyal and potentially content to stay where he is. He would really have to be wooed in order to leave the set up that he currently has.
