Agree that UGA would have been the odds-on favorite to win the Natty had they been selected into the CFP Final Four. Problem is that they choked against Bama and games are won and loss on the scoreboard, period. On the other hand, FSU was highly overrated the entire year, with their signature win against an on-the-fence LSU team ranked around 20th. Their overall schedule was a joke. Once their QB got injured, they reverted to a bunch of spoiled juvenile delinquents. Beating Louisville was not a notable achievement. Their absolute AWOL stunt in the Orange Bowl set their program back ten years. It basicallly put Mike Norvell's future in checkmate. No recruit will want to play for FSU with zero team mettle or any ability to reach a CFP playoff playing in the inferior ACC.
Not really. UGA had a bad game against Bama, making a number of costly errors. No excuse for FSU quitting like spoiled juvenile children. FSU was overrated the entire year. UGA would have beat Michigan on New Years Day. Period dot com.
Florida was the worst team in the SEC this year, and will continue to be the worst next year. You are just jealous that your rival whipped your team. FSU finished the season undefeated in a Power 5 conference and should have been one of the four semifinal CFP playoff teams. The fact that Saban and Sankey jawboned Bama into it at FSU's expense shows raw corruption and emphasis on maximizing money at the expense of the game of college football.
Alabama's total choke in the CFP semifinal game just exposes the corrupt and idiotic CFP committee. The entire membership should be fired. FSU could have done a better job against Michigan than Alabama. Sankey should be fired, too. He's just a Bama Homer working out of Birmingham, probably briefing the refs every Friday afternoon to help his Bammers out. the 2023 Bama team, and Milroe in particular, was just a sandlot football team with a bunch of slippery offensive skill players ad libbing on the field. Disgusting. I really feel sorry for FSU even if their adminstration and coaches provided absolutely zero leadership through their disappointments toward the end of the season. Again, how Bama could have scammed its way into the CFP shows that the system is totally corrupt...
graduate assistants in reasearch and teaching have nothing in common with student athletes. The athletes are students, while the graduate assistants teach. Put your thinking hat back on, please.
They have been conditioned to support their teams, but with NIL and transfer portals destroying college football, fans and donor behavior will change drastically. I really hope that college football fans can see the terrible effects of paying players, treating them as university employees, and allowing them to be bought by other teams as indentured servants once were.
Amen. I would not trade my UGA Dawgs nor their coaches for any other team in the country. Especially not Alabama.
Hey, chill out. UGA hasn't whined. They know they choked against Bama. They were a study in brilliant leadership last night with a record smashing demolition of FSU last night. If Bama had lost. Saban would still be working the media complaining about Bama getting screwed out of the CFP. So give Kirby Smart his due. He is the real deal.
The moderator needs to permanently ban RonMexico... Hide him in the BARN.
Two things: First, the Bama-UGA game. When Smart let Mike Bobo back inside the city walls, I knew that bad ju-ju was coming our way. Looked like he actually learned from Monken that there is nothing to be gained from the second kick of a mule. Until the Bama game. He had a total relapse, sucked all the momentum from the offense gained from the first drive, and literally killed our opportunty to eventually win the game. Moral of the story: not good business to hire your friends and family. Second. The stark contrast in leadership between FSU and UGA was on the national stage yesterday for all to see. Both teams suffered disappointment, but the different ways they coped is material for a case study in leadership. FSU whined and whined, blaming everyone but themselves. The team lost its mojo. UGA, on the other hand, picked themselves up, dusted themselves off, and dedicated themselves to victory for each other. The FSU squad didn't even show up for the game, while all the UGA squad was excited to hunt in Miami. The result was a modern day record for a major bowl smackdown. Because of UGA's leadership advantage, they will enter next season on top of the polls, while FSU will need a number of years to rebuild all the bridges they destroyed with their juvenile whining. Norvell will never recover from his poor leadership decisions. No elite recruits want to be a part of that burning dumpster fire in Tallahassee.
After reading Neuheisel’s pronouncements for the SEC championship, i am feeling great cause I am actually smarter today than he is. He bases his predictions on both teams’ games against Auburn. Georgia did have to adjust to their dual QB but adjust they did. Most of Thorne’s yards were from a single run. Georgia pounded Auburn in the 4th quarter, while Auburn actually pounded Bama in the 4th quarter. If not for a lucky pass made possible by Auburn’s idiotic defense on the game’s last play, Bama would have actually lost to Auburn. Milroe will make some running yards against UGA, but the Dawgs’ defense will adjust and UGA will win comfortably with a superior balance offense against a weaker defense.
We will all celebrate with a basket of fried gator cheeks!
Stay home and let your friends and family share your development and accomplishments as a Georgia Bulldog. Lincoln Riley is a bust who hasn't a NC ring on his finger. Ever. Even having recruited servaral elite QBs. Go to the NFL as a 1st Round UGA NFL pick with mutliple NC rings on your fingers. Be true to your home state of Georgia!
Enjoy it. Drink 'er up, cause next year all these overachievers from the State of Misery will be moved on to the real world and it will be back to mediocre seasons... To their credit, they did show up for work against Georgia and hung with them for three quarters... Probably a Top 10 team this year.
Lane Kiffin has never stayed at any particular program long enough to validate that he is an above average coach. He either quits and transfers to another school for more money or is fired for being a lousy coach. I think his main assets are his Hollywood looks and his tart sense of humor. These attributes may get him media attention and may help in recruiting, but does not translate into being a good coach. My own take on him is that he is just a user of others with zero loyalty to anybody or anything. What happened to Layla, btw?
This entire article is irrelevant because Ohio State will beat Michigan. If they don't, Michigan will choke in the Semifinal just like they have the previous two years. Michigan is highly overrated. They are truly the antithesis of "America's Team." In fact, their previous three seasons' wins should be struck from the record books. They are cheaters. Period dot com.
Every time Milton throws long the secondary has a good chance for an interception.
Tennessee had their own immaculate reception a few years ago when the QB did a Hail Mary on the last play and a blind Vol squirrel actually caught it to win in Athens.
It will be ugly whether Mizzou is ready or not. Mizzou could beat Florida if the entire team had broken wrists.
I think Auburn actually has a decent chance of upsetting Bama this year...
That's funny... and delusional... it's more like Milton throws two interceptions first quarter, then fumbles after he is sacked... Georgia plays the remainder of its game with their 2s and 3s so that everyone on the team gets lots of reps...
Nice try, Matt. Gotta have something to hype up every week; so it's usually how the next UGA opponent will pull an earth-shaking upset. News Flash: It ain't gonna happen. The Neyland crowd will be docile as a pasture of cows after the first quarter Carson Beck machine dissects RockyFlop. Having Milton as your quarterback is akin to sitting on a hand grenade. He is absolutely inconsistent. Coach Pigpen is quickly wearing out his welcome in the smoky mountain rain. The rest of the team couldn't care less at this point. Georgia will win by 3 touchdowns +. Remember this on Sunday morning as you heard it first from me. Tennessee will continue to be Georgia's bitsch. Coach Aqualung will be fired in a couple more years just like every coach after Fullmer. The entire Purina Nation should be awarded the Fullmer award for 2023.
Part of the problem with TAMU is the culture of the university's administrative leadership and its virulent wealthy boosters. They are out of control and make for a toxic environment for a head football coach. Texas isn't much different. When is the last time a Big 12 team won a national championship btw? Vince Young? 20 years ago?
