As a Hog fan, I gotta say these rankings are pretty spot on. Bama seems to be the team to beat and Tennessee seems like a solid 2nd. Arkansas at 3rd seems about right. Mississippi State has impressed in the first month and a half or so of play, it’ll be interesting to see how they fair in conference play once it kicks off. But the top of the conference is stacked - the rest of the conference however, leaves plenty to be desired. Just my opinion
Arkansas might happily oblige to take those off the cat's hands; Muss is 2-1 vs Kentucky so far and now has the Hogs in back to back Sweet 16 appearances. with this momentum and the recruiting class coming in next season, Hogs could be one of the favorites to win a Title.
As an Arkansas fan, I'm not going to lie, having Kentucky at 7 is perplexing to me. They seem to be a squad that is jelling much more than last year, and I believe they are a real solid team. Honestly, Arkansas has had me worried so far into the season; a lot of loose play, allowing unforced turnovers and not shooting the ball real well beyond the arc. These things can - and will - be fixed by Musselman I believe, especially by conference play, but I would honestly put Arkansas behind Florida and Kentucky at least for right now. This is as objective as I can be from what I've seen from the top half of the conference so far, still a lot of parity in this conference when you look at No.'s 1-7 tbh. Race for the SEC championship seems like it's up for grabs, nobody looks like a clear frontrunner at this time.
Doing a terrible job of pretending you don't miss us at the top of the SEC pecking order with ya'll tbh; I HEAR your spiel, but i'm not really FEELING it, ya know?
All the same, but if you go back and look at that footage again, you'll see an Aggie O-lineman lead with the crown of his helmet against our Lineman.‍♂️
Also of note; he just seems like such a genuine guy to play/work under. I've never even met the man and I'd run through a brick wall in an instance for him. I can only imagine the confidence and will he ignites in his players in the locker room and practice field. If anything else, Pittman has given our Hogs a breath of fresh air that we so desperately needed.
*palpatine voice* yesss, yeessss goood; exude that confidence against Arkansas to close out the game. let it flow through you. In all seriousness at this point, I believe it is the team and the fanbase with the most confidence in their team to win that'll end up on the losing side of the Southwest Classic. lol
Horrible shooting game for the Hogs in that last one, probably the worst I've seen in a long time; we couldn't shoot the broadside of a barn. Though I feel it's safe to say they won't be having many, if any, more performances like that, you just can't afford to have games that bad. Kudos to Cuonzo for the game plan of attacking the interior with Smith out. Razorbacks gotta get some more bodies in there to alleviate that.
I agree, the refs never let the game flow even a little. Gotta give credit to Mizzou on that game, they took Cuonzo Really took advantage of Justin Smith being out the rotation and pounded the Hogs from the Inside. Possibly the worst shooting game I've seen from the Hogs in a long time to go along with it. Missouri's defense is solid, knew the game against the Vols earlier had to be just a terrible performance more than an indicator of how good the Tigers are, same as the Hogs in this last game.
