Those big guys on the offensive line might have had something to do with it. Not one sack. I have not seen anybody hold back Alabama's rush like they did. Give credit to those crazy catches too, plus a talented QB.
No. It should not be up to the CFP. Ohio and UCF were shorted. Either team probabaly would have been blown out, but they paid a price during the season to deserve an opportunity. I feel winning your conference should mean something. Last year was a joke. Look at Tua, he lost the Heisman, he is injured, and according the to beauty test that is applied to UCF, Alabama should disqualified from the playoff? Not really, but just saying -- that is the bias that is the SEC and the CFP. It is not a crime if you win your conference, and play a lesser opponent in the playoff. That is the way brackets go, but you have to make the cut. With that said, Alabama has nothing to be ashamed of. Well, except for maybe those fake majorettes. Clemson majorettes had way more talent.
That's it. We cannot allow non-SEC teams into the playoff. It was much better when only Georgia and Alabama got the pass. It is just not fair; we cannot have a blow-out in the play-off game.
The citrus bowl is a half hour in the direction of UF. I will agree that this a sort of a road game for UF, if you call driving down the interstate for an hour, a road game. It is still in their backyard. However, it is still three road games for UCF. It is an honor that UF makes this offer, but neither teams benefits, and UCF never gets a home game.
I love how some of these SEC schools are pushing for UCF to play UF, when they will not play either school. Why is that? UCF would love to play Alabama.
Smart kids go to UCF. They look at UF and see their cinder-block closet-sized dorm rooms with a bathroom down the hall, where the campus is so poorly laid out that it has spawned a rebirth to the moped industry. If you look past that, pay an exorbitant parking fee, and take the campus tour, you will be greeted by a communist Chinese chick wearing a virtual rainbow cap and touting its diversity. All well and good unless you are trying to build a football team. Let's say I look past all that and the charm living in a small town known for growing pot and past times like bat-fishing appeals to me; then I must suffer through the application process of manually transcribing “each and every grade” I made in high school to my UF college application, because for some reason this cutting-edge university has still not discovered 20 century technology like OCR, and a kick-butt GPA and test score means nothing in itself. I am not making this up. Still, I love UF, they throw a great party and have a rich history, just would not want to go to school there, and there lies their problem. If UF has any life left in them, like the old dinosaur-era reptile they chose as their mascot that won't die off, they need to focus on out-of-state schools, and help team-up with UCF to reclaim Florida as the football power house that it is – like they have always done. UCF already made a mistake by battling with USF, and loosing their quarterback; painful to both the AAC and Florida football. Alabama is doing all they can to avoid both of these schools. Hats off to LSU.
ditto - this is three home games for UF, does nothing for UCF. Besides, UF is not a UCF rival. The only people pushing for this game are the SEC lackeys, who hope the Florida schools will knock each other out of contention.
Take a closer look at the rosters. Bama has about what, 12 players pushing 300lbs; UCF has double that. UCF has a lot of depth.
Let's get this right. UCF already beat Bama. UCF Already beat Georgia. Last year Maryland was talking championship game, and was dismantled by UCF; it was not even close. one year Penn State Scheduled UCF for their homecoming game, and LOST! When Luoivlle was considered the best team in the country with a 12-1 season; guess who gave them their only loss; at Luoiville's home stadium - UCF! The reality is, Alabama will not play UCF again, and know that UCF is a sploiler. In fact, I would put USF up there too. These are big schools with good teams. Alabama, Georgia, these are small schools with less 30,00 undergraduate students compared to UCF or USF with about 55,000 students, and tougher acceptance rates. All this babble is about how great Alabama is, is just coming from grumpy old men who cannot face reality that little brother has grown up and about to kick their butts ... AGAIN!
