I would argue that we are big trouble when the 18-21 year old football players are the only ones making sense in this upside down world we're living in. Cancel a billion+ dollar industry for a virus that severely effects less than 2 tenths of a percent of this countries population (whether or not we play football)? That's where the "big trouble" is.
I wouldn't doubt it if Auburn miraculously beats Bama and the only result is LSU not going to the Sugar Bowl. Bama still wins SEC West, and gets a playoff berth.
If Herman's only motivation to come to LSU would be for money, then yes, we'd probably have issues pulling him. Hopefully he'll enjoy the allure of a big time college, playing in front of 100k people, and competing against the best schools every year, instead of trying to get amped up for a conference game against Tulane. But who knows. If O does well, and can bring in a top notch OC, I think a lot of the fan base will be OK with that (assuming we keep Aranda around as well).
LSU doesn't "fall apart" after the bama game. If LSU beats bama, they'll beat Ark. if they lose to bama, they have a good chance of losing to Ark. It's an indication of how good the team is. nothing more, nothing less.
It has nothing to do with the "physical game" between LSU and bama. Since 2005., when LSU is good enough to beat Bama they're 5-0 in their next SEC game. When LSU isn't good enough to beat bama they're 2-4 in their next SEC games. If LSU beats bama they will beat Ark.
