Whatever it is, they better make sure Swamp Donkey never comes anywhere near it!
Arkansas's backup this year is most likely going to be Cole Kelley. All last preseason, the coaches raved about how good he looked as a true freshman, while Ty was inconsistent. Austin was and is the established starter so Cole redshirted last year, but if the coaches are to be believed, Cole is a future star quarterback.
Last year Arkansas had two returning starters and depth issues on the offensive line. It was musical chairs throughout the whole preseason and season. This year, we have four returning starters and more depth from recruiting and maturation. Despite losing Skipper, it will be better. That was where all our issues on offense stemmed from. We lost Hatcher, Morgan, and Sprinkle but got elite jucos Martin, Nance, and Patton and return Cornelius and Cantrell. We return Williams and Whaley (who will have a year under his belt after being eased in as a freshman). And most importantly, Austin is a fifth-year senior with a year of starting experience after playing very well with constant pressure from a makeshift offensive line. Better.
When Les Miles mispronounced Arkansas, McFadden brought the wood, and LSU lost but still miraculously made it to the title game. No matter what happens, Misery will not even be sniffing a bowl game.
Seriously, are there no 4th and 25 memes out there? What is this world coming to? I'd have thought at least a fourth of these would be about one of the best plays of the year.
And yet every statement you made was with the attitude that it was the only possible truth. You're technically right in that I don't know for sure that there isn't a massive conspiracy in which Bobby Allen manipulates the Razorback Athletic Department and has Jeff Long as his marionette, but I also don't know for sure that our government isn't secretly run by a ruling class of reptilians. My opinion relies on the consensus of reports out of camp (I suppose you think the whole Razorback media is cowed by the Hoginati) and statements from the coaches (whose jobs, again, rely on putting the team in the best position to win). As for running others off, your saying that because Rafe transferred, quarterback's are being run off and Cole will transfer too is completely asinine. Your comparing Rafe to Cole is apples to oranges. Rafe is a redshirt sophomore who just got passed on the depth chart by a redshirt freshman and possibly a true freshman that the coaches have been raving about. And, while nothing is completely assured, Cole is looking like a future all-SEC player. If he somehow passed Austin by a convincing margin by next year, he would start and Austin would probably transfer. What will probably happen, though, is he will start as a redshirt sophomore. Simply put, it made sense for Rafe to transfer. It makes no sense whatsoever to insist without evidence that quarterbacks are being run off just because the most senior quarterbacks have happened to start consecutively unless somebody has an agenda. Even though they are siblings, they are still two different individuals; Austin has the right to prove what he can do without people moaning about "BA 2.0" before he's had a chance.
Do you really think the coaches are incapable of telling which quarterback is the most talented? Like any coach, Bielema's job depends on him putting the team in the best position to win. Is it really inconceivable that a fourth year junior with the most experience on the team is the best option? Austin separated himself early, and, perhaps partially due to the back injury, Peavey had been overtaken by Ty and possibly Cole, who appears to be the quarterback of the future. This made sense for him. That's the truth, but you can think whatever you want.
While it would be nice having Brandon Allen back for another year, I think some people underestimate what Austin can be. Since he has better weapons around him, I think his stats will be somewhere between 2014 and 2015 BA if the offensive line doesn't struggle to adequately replace three players. Since the line is such an important part of Bielema's philsophy, another option is a lineman like Shawn Andrews or Brandon Burlsworth. The defense is experienced and should be very good, but we have struggled at kicker for the past two seasons. Steve Little would be without a doubt the best choice at kicker if someone went that route. His 67-yarder tied the record for longest kick, and the record still stands. If this was real, Arkansas would have plenty of options.
The mistake was having that play nominated instead of 4th and 25. The quality of a play is determined by the improbability, effect on the game, and significance on a larger scale. One was a do or die situation that was highly improbable while the other, though also very improbable, was just a scoring play at the beginning of the third quarter of a close game. And even though Ole Miss beating Alabama could have altered who won the championship, it ended up having no effect because of Arkansas beating Ole Miss.
See also its, it's, pique, peek, and peak (read the article title again). The entire comment was sarcasm.
I guess the topic of satellite camps peeked the DOJ's interest. If they get involved in it, they're power will almost certainly surpass it's previous pique. Its always good to be well informed about the U.S. Department of Justice taking a peak at the satellite camp ban. Thank you, SDS.
The premise that Dak is in a tier by himself with BA and Coker below him in their own tier is wrong. I don't know where the idea that he'd be undrafted came from, but he's projected to be a mid-round pick. He'd go even higher than fourth or fifth round if not for his size being considered less than ideal. And Dak did not "dominate" the Senior Bowl. Both he and BA were 7/10. BA had 106 yards versus Dak's 61. Coker was 3/8 for 23 yards. The only reason Dak was named MVP was because he scored one touchdown. The only reason he is projected higher than BA is because of his size advantage and slight mobility advantage. BA was the most efficient passer in the nation this past year and led the nation in QBR. The last quarterback Bielema had to be that good was Russell Wilson who was also criticized for lack of height. BA is a better passer prospect and will likely transition to the NFL better because he came from a pro-style system.
