We have seen the Conf tourneys mean nothing in recent years. Conference tourneys mean a lot, Fuzz! Just ask Samford who won theirs last night. I doubt they would have gotten an at-large berth. Turn on any talk show and you'll hear the hosts giving their opinions as to which school an athlete should attend. Elite athletes will seek advice from coaches and players. Then add the NIL offers as well as enticements to enter the transfer portal. I don't see how a phone call from Herbstreit to a recruit's father is any different, much less an egregious act.
