Worse - made that idiot a captain the next week. Definitely defines Mullen's tenure.
I believe you are correct regarding him retiring before passing away. The quoted lines, however, don't make sense. Yeah, I know, nit-picking on my part. I need to move on.
"Edmondson passed away in 2019, but his tradition still lives on in Gainesville. After Edmondson’s passing, Florida has had an honorary Mr. Two Bits since 2013." So...he died in 2019, and we've had an honorary figure since his passing...2013? Basics here, Grant. Basics. = = = = 2-Bits has always been a great part of the gameday experience. Loved seeing him popping out of gateways and leading sections in the cheer randomly throughout the game.
I don't think White had a lot of say in the matter, he was likely getting fired and if UGA offered he'd be a fool not to jump immediately and start building his next team. I get your point about a 'd move', especially as it speaks to the players who came here for him, but I really think White was only staying thru NIT if he had nowhere else to go.
Name one player that ‘developed’ and got better under White. The only one I can think of was, I believe, Mann - who hired someone in the off-season to work with him. White recruits talent, but can’t develop players or get them to do more than ‘figure it out yourself’ in games. He gets talent from the portal, but those kids also come in at their ceiling. They may have potential, but he won’t help them. I don’t think the mass exodus under white is so much about a ‘cultural fit’ as much as it is kids know he can’t help them. How many kids has he recruited that stayed?
2nd Place Champions....more titles for that in recruiting and games than most can claim! And, I say that being a real FL fan :\
It's really hard to tackle when you are 10y out of position. Just sayin'
NCAA said anyone with a pulse, regardless of record, is bowl eligible. Us UF fans are looking at FSU and shaking our heads.
Agree. Have to beat Smart first to consider ranking Mullen ahead.
"the Gators have been slowly eroding the gap between Georgia and the rest of the SEC. Says here that the gap has closed enough that Florida wins the East in 2020." Our own coach says we're still 7pts away from being the team we want to be. Dunno if we close that gap this year with our defense taking a step back.
To distract people from his rolled up khaki pants and sneakers ;)
Of the fans who haven't already given up, most are already sharpening torches and lighting their pitchforks. I'm one who doesn't get too invested or wound up about wins-losses, but even I can see White cannot get it done. He's been great at bringing in talent, but nearly ALL of the players regress under him. Can't name anyone who actually improved.
Can't believe Rebel_LandFart is still using that account. I'm surprised you'd show up at all given the hell that is coming to the grove from NCAA. You'll have nothing to cheer about for a long time. I guess that's why you cheer for others to lose...you can't win.
Then, there was the 42-13 azz whoopin we got from Mizzou in 2014. Yeah, we're daring.
That would be delightfully delicious. All in on that suggestion.
I don't see his new title anywhere, but I could see a transition for HS talent evaluation (College Recruiter) to NFL talent scout making some sense. I see more sense in that his brother was fired, so why should he stay at UF?
Even as a Gator fan, and someone who appreciates Tebow for the kind of person he is and what he did for Florida, I'm simply not interested in baseball - even his career - when I'm looking for football.
While I feel for folks who get shot, so long as they weren't putting themselves in a situation to be shot, I have to take a step back and ask when USF joined the SEC? Or were the players shot by SEC kids?
I hope USCe is ready for that match up against Georgetown.
Perspective: Insider view = confidence Outsider view = cocky Not just with his comments, but anytime a player speaks it is cocky/confidence based on what program you support.
I'm still trying to figure out who the guys in the pictures are. I assume walk ons, but who are they? From what schools?
Blogs need editors. Arkansas section speaks about Brandon Burlsworth then goes on to reference the trophy named after him and this 'article' mispells the guys name. "College football now awards The Bu-R-lsworth Trophy to the top walk-on in the country." ================== Grammar policing aside. Good article concept.
Agreed. Phil Steele trying to remain relevant when nothing is going on, and sites like SDS using it to try and keep the wheels rolling.
This is news? How is anyone not already aware of this?
1. It's SDS. We're lucky it is a video and not a still frame from a video, and that it is of a player on the team the article is actually about. 2. It's UF. We're desperate for any kind of offense where the QB can make ANY passes. Can you throw? Have any eligibility left?
Most FL fans don't believe del Rio will improve much and are hoping that in his 3rd year, the second with Trask/Franks, the QB whisperer can show improvement at that position. I'd give Mac a pass on the first year, inheriting Greir and Harris from WM and doing the best he could, especially after Grier went a separate way. Last year, we were hoping del Rio's second year under Mac & Nuss would have made him QB1....and while he was, he wasn't an SEC level QB and we stumbled through the season on offense relying on a grad transfer (AA) knowing del Rio wasn't the answer (and neither was AA). This is Mac's year. Show me a QB. Please.
Folks keep saying any other SEC team would have wiped the floor with OSU, then pointing to Saban. Take Bama off the table, they are too busy playing for NCs. If any SEC-East team was up against OSU, I'm not sure who wins. If the bottom half of the SEC-West played OSU, I'm not sure who wins. I'd go with the top half of the SEC-West coming out over OSU, likely at a closer margin.
