LSU is going to do the same thing. Your QB won't be able to run on us. Sooo....if Bama can't run and the QB has to stand and throw...gonna be an interesting game. Nobody is saying it much but here is what Bama is this year: A team with a very good defense that takes the ball away, special teams that can score and win field position, and an offense that runs the ball 60% of the time with a QB who can't really threaten the whole field with his arm. Danny Etling adds important element to LSU, but closing games an issue

You have to analyze what actually happened in the game. "Closing out games" has to have an actual meaning. In this game it was mostly the two fumbles that kept MSU in the game. The offense itself was not really stopped by MSU all night. In the 2nd half we had 2 drives killed by penalties and 2 killed by fumbles. Some of it was just dumb luck. The second fumble was an atrocious replay call. Now to special teams. The punting was fine. The punt coverage was fine. The kick-off coverage except for the onside was fine. The kick-offs had one kicked out of bounds. The field goal unit had a block. So what are we looking at as a special teams unit failure? ONE onside kick failure on what was honestly a fantastic kick. Still should have been covered. The other is execution by kickers. Got to be right but it is a different deal than unit failure.

Some folks just can't get past the narrative they want to create. Tyron Johnson was 5 star WR who had trouble getting on the field as a freshman. As a sophomore he is now dealing with Chark who had passed him, Fergoson who at what rise was probably even, AND 3 true freshman WR that are way bigger than him. Why do players leave a team? Playing time. Always. The rest is excuses. Tyron is a great player who got passed up by better players. His dad can cover for him all he wants.
