Ole Miss bounces back from Kentucky loss, tops South Carolina
That was a pretty good bounce back game that Ole Miss needed after playing horribly against Kentucky.
South Carolina fans, you have a good team. You beat a solid Kentucky team, should have beaten LSU (that game was stolen from you guys). No shame in losing to Ole Miss.
I agree, Nico is not a heisman caliber QB this year. Not saying he is bad or anything but there are better and more experienced QBs. I think Nico will have growing pains as he starts to face tougher teams. 2025 will be when Nico should really be a legit Heisman contender.
I’m still not sure what metrics this guy is using to come up with these rankings, but it’s SDS so it’s not going to make much sense lol.
All I gotta say is after watching Walter Nolan literally knock Wake Forest’s LT four yards into their backfield on a run play before that LT even knew what happened and just blew the whole play up. The pure speed and strength he shows is crazy for a DT.
I think this list must be some kind of joke or something because no sane person that watches SEC football would have such a ridiculous list.
Seriously how is Milroe a Heisman contender? He isn’t a bad QB but definitely not one of the best QBs in the country. Dart, Beck, Ewers and Ward are much better QBs. Milroe is an average passer at best. The ONLY reason Milroe is a contender is because of the team he plays on and that he is a great athlete.
I just hope people don’t start actually believing that Kiffin is going to go to take the Foorida job after they fire Napier.
First off congrats to Bama for winning. But not sure there is much we can take away from this game. Wisconsin’s starting QB was knocked out of the game on the first drive of the game.
I can’t wait till everyone in the media to get in wrong again when Kiffin turns down the Florida job. Kiffin is very happy at OM and has made it an even better job than Florida. If the Florida job was that good, then why have they went thru so many coaches over the past decade that have all done terrible? Secondly with NIL, Ole Miss has proved it has the money and can bring top talent in consistently. People that say Florida is a much better job are living in the past. Florida hasn’t been relevant in a long time.
I’m pretty sure this Neil guy is either just really bad at his job or on some hard drugs because this list makes zero sense. What metric is this guy using to come up with this list. Obviously it’s not who is the actual best players in the SEC.
Not sure you have been paying attention or watching Ole Miss, but their defensive front seven is very elite with a lot of quality depth! Probably easily a top 3 defensive front seven in the country. As far as Oline, they are really solid with a lot of depth. While OM hasn’t played anyone good, they are only giving up 27 rushing yards a game, averaging just 1 yard per attempt and the starters are usually out by halftime.
Yep you’re right, we will find out as the season goes on. It’s a weird season in the SEC with it being so top heavy. What usually makes the SEC so difficult is the middle and bottom teams good.
I’m surprised Texas isn’t ranked ahead of Ole Miss. If they were I would be okay with it. I do believe Ole Miss is an overall better team than Texas but Texas has the better win so far. Even if it was against a highly overrated Michigan team. To bad Ole Miss plays Oklahoma and not Texas this year.
I agree that Tennessee is being a little over hyped and that their QB hasn’t played against a legit defense yet. But Ole Miss is definitely top 3 or 4 team. Yes they haven’t played anyone but they have easily defeated who they have played. Just ask Bama, Oregon and other big programs that have struggled against weak competition lol. OM is playing like they should and has QB, talent and depth.
I would swap Bama and Ole Miss.
Hahaha, I’m pretty sure it’s your party that supports all the pedos and are all big fans of Jeffery Epstein lol
What metric is this guy using for this because it makes zero sense lol?
Note Dame being WAY overrated is still in style I see lol.
lol Milroe over Dart? Someone needs to actually start watching the actual games!
I will give Carson Beck his due and not say Dart is better but Dart and Beck are the best QBs in the SEC, if not the country. Dart will probably be a 1st round NFL pick, Milroe will be lucky to be mid round pick.
lol Dart put up 418 yards in just the first half! I swear the people that write for SDS don’t watch college football, they just watch highlights and ready someone else’s articles to get their info. Anyone with an ounce of SEC knowledge would know that Dart is one of the best (if not the best) QBs in the country. He put up over 3200 yards last year in a run heavy offense. This year he has the best & deepest WR/TE corp in the country that will be passing more. Plus an upgraded OL that should give him even more time in the pocket. Dart will be closer to 4000 yards than 2800 yards this season!
Seriously who on Ole Miss’ schedule would you actually put money on to beat them besides Georgia? The answer is NO ONE!
Geauxtigers8- I would definitely take Cook over Milroy any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I would take Nussmeier over Milroe. Milroe is ranked high ONLY because he plays for Bama. Also I wouldn’t say Ewers is the second best QB in the SEC, that should probably be Dart.
If you just look at their stats for 2023, Dart is better. Plus this year Ole Miss is just loaded offensively and has probably the best and deepest WR/TE room in the country.
Dart- 3,354 passing yds, 23 TDs 5 INTs in 13 games. 78.5 QBR
Ewers- 3,474 passing yds, 22 TDs 6 INTs in 14 games. 78.3 QBR
I feel like the person who wrote this didn’t watch any of these QBs. First off Milroe isn’t a top 5 QB in the SEC. If he played for anyone other than Bama he would be ranked closer to the bottom than the top. Beck and Dart are both better QBs than Ewers, maybe even Cook.
If he played for anyone other than Bama he wouldn’t even be an afterthought.
Dart, Beck, Ewers and Cook are much better QBs. Milroe is just getting the Bama hype. If Bama would have anyone of these QBs during the playoff, Bama would have won and not looked horrible on offense.
I honestly wonder how anyone thinks Jalen Milton is a good QB, much less a Herman contender lol. He was HORRIBLE for the first part of the season and look HORRIBLE against Michigan. At no point during last season did Milroy look like one of the best QBs in the SEC, much less the country. He was barely serviceable as a passer. It was his size and running ability that made him a threat. But in no way is he anywhere near a top QB in the country.
Dart is one of the best QBs in the country and has easily the best/deepest WR corp in the country, not to mention a really great TE. He threw for over 3200 yards last year.
Not sure how they figure LSU has a 62% chance to beat Ole Miss. I think 40% is more reasonable. The ONLY advantage LSU has over Ole Miss is the fact it’s a LSU home game. Ole Miss has the more talented offensive and defense.
Week 11 will be Georgia at Ole Miss. Both teams should be undefeated going into that game! My daughter could do a better job picking lol
O’Gara: Lane Kiffin deserves all the preseason hype … and all the criticism if he misses the Playoff
I would say Texas A&M but that would be a lie lol. Ole Miss doesn’t have much of an issue beat A&M lol
O’Gara: Lane Kiffin deserves all the preseason hype … and all the criticism if he misses the Playoff
I really think people are underestimating just how good and talented Ole Miss’ defense is going to be. Their front 7 is going to really good! With Nolan, Princely, Ivey, Pegues, Chris Paul, Dottery, and Perkins to name a few on the front 7. There’s also some freshmen DL studs like Kam Franklin, Jeffery Rush and William Echols that are going get a chance to make some plays.
People are over looking Ole Miss’ defense because of how great the offense is, but the defense this year on paper should be equally, if not better! The only two teams I can honest say have more talent on the defensive side of the ball would be Georgia and probably Ohio St.
I think Ole Miss does a really good job at recruiting nationally. It started with Freeze bringing in big time recruits but had a drop off after he was gone and then picked back up with Kiffin. Of course OM isn’t going be top 5 or 10 recruiting wise, but its no surprise to OM recruiting class be 10-20 most years.
