I'm not surprised at Chubb's absence. I CANT STAND these preseason lists that include players that are coming off a MAJOR injury and/or missed some/all of last season. NOBODY knows what that player is gonna be like when they get back on the field. Not everyone is AP...

Tough to disagree. We could lose 1-2 SEC games and nothing else and still lose the East. Don't know what to expect out of Georgia... Florida OVER-performed with 1st yr coach ( but they'll take a huge step back this year). UGA has a better coach... Should be a fun season

LSU, maybe. But Tennessee it's 25 points away from winning their last 20-ish games. I'm definitely not putting the cart before the horse (last 2 Florida losses have taught me that. We were SO much better both years), but Tennessee is finally primed to make the run and get our team back in the top 10-20 perennially. We have the talent. I would put our talent up against ANYbody in the country. There is not a weak spot on our team. Let's just hope we don't fold late in the 4th like we did last year against Oklahoma, Florida and Alabama. If we do, that's on our coaching. Go Vols.

I disagree about Tennessee... I think it'll be our DLine. Derek Barnett, Shy Tuttle, Khalil McKenzie, Corey Vereen, Danny O'Brien, Kendal Vickers, Quay Picou, Andrew Butcher, Kyle Phillips, Darrel Taylor, Dimarya Mixon... Although QB is gonna be just fine as well

38-31. And y'all were barely (and I mean BARELY) beating us when your talent was HEAD AND SHOULDERS better and we had DOOLEY. Beat us by ONE score Dooley's last (and worst) year. Beat us by ONE FG, in OVERTIME, in Butch's first (and worst) year Needed 2 LATE 1st downs by Gurley, AND a late fumble (by a freshman) recovery in the EZ for a TD to seal the win at home in 2014. Last year, the bounces finally went our way. I LOVE playing UGA... Always a good/great game no matter who is ranked higher, but it was our time to turn it around last year.

Arkansas caught Tennessee after 2 DEVASTATING losses to 2 too-15 teams. We win EITHER of those games, we spank y'all. We lost 4 games, to 3 top-15 teams, by a TOTAL of 16 pts. We learned from it. Plus we probly have the MOST returning talent in the entire conference. Our depth is still a thin in a few spots, but Tennessee wins the East in 2016. Mark it down. But 10 may be a bit high :) lol

I gotta agree. Your QB situation is abysmal. I knew y'all would be 1-dimensional... And when Chubb went down in Knoxville, other RB's stepped up nicely, but y'all weren't the same. And that 1 dimensions became 0 dimensional. My Vols better take the East this year. Absolutely. NO. Excuse. I think McElwain and the Gators take a big step backwards with losing SO much on D, and STILL not having any semblance of a capable QB. Coaching changes at UGA, USC, AND Mizzou? Like I said, NO excuse. Tennessee has a VERY tough stretch at home vs. Florida, at A&M, at Georgia, then home vs. Bama. We win at LEAST 2 of those, and we won't lose the rest of the year. Dunno if 10 is too high, but if we stomp Northwestern like we did Iowa last year... And, well... Maybe. Probly top 15 tho.

It is absolutely thinking like this that allows guys like Jameis Winston to get away with rape... Only he and the girl know what happened, and I'm not saying it was or wasn't rape. And am I the only one that has not been terribly impressed with Derrick Henry?? He has to have time to get moving or he goes down. He doesn't make nearly anyone miss. Yes he's big and powerful, but so is Jalen Hurd, and Jalen still makes people miss... So does Fournette, Collins and Chubb. Hurd, Fournette, Chubb and Collins are ALL faster, and more elusive. The latter 3 have a good OL, but if you gave Jalen Hurd Alabama's offensive line, I think it be a very close race between Fournette, Chubb and Hurd. With Chubb being out, Henry is 3rd...

Hurd is better than Collins... So yes it is 'close'. You give Hurd Arky's OL, and oh my LAWD! You said it yourself, "if Tennessee had a better OL"... Tennessee's OL is better than they were last year, and will be better next year, but if you give Jalen ANY of those other 3 RB's OL, Hurd could and probably would be a Heisman favorite. Dobbs might be too... Don't get me wrong, Fournette, Henry, Collins (and don't forget Chubb) are all deserving... I would just like to see what JH could do with any 3 of Alabama, Arkansas or LSU's OL... Like you said, he runs ANGRY. He gets to the corner when you didn't think he could, he runs with a HUGE chip on his shoulder. Even with his average OL (and that's being generous), he's still very deserving of being ranked 4th. And with a better OL, he'd be higher. And as much as I don't like Vanderbilt, I like that you gave Webb a top-5 ranking. Kid is a good player on a terrible team

They have the BEST pass-rushing duo in the league, the 2nd best CB IN THE LEAGUE, one of the best LB's in JRM (although he doesn't get the credit he deserves), 2 STELLAR safeties in Randolph and McNeill, and they run 4 deep at DT - Williams, O'Brien, Tuttle, and McKenzie, who may end up being the BEST DT the SEC has ever seen. He's that good. Oh... And they're loaded at Nickel too, when the situation calls for it.

This is a terrible article... First, It is NOT Kenny Bynum or Bust. Kirkland Jr. is SO good... and Colton Jumper OR Dillon Bates will be fine, either way. Second, we don't play LSU and Leonard Fournette this year. Third, if this was written today, you obviously don't keep up TOO well with Vols news... Which a bit came out just yesterday about how Kirkland Jr. has been wowing the DC and LB coach with his intuition. So it is most certainly NOT "Kenny Bynum or bust"...

I DO like the fact that Tennessee is ranked top five and pretty much everything, outside of QB, which is MIND-boggling. Josh Dobbs and THREE 4* QB's backing him up, and our position group is ranked 7th? Unreal...

Terrible, terrible ranking... MATY MAUK???? Kyle Allen? Jeremy Johnson who hasn't even played it barely a snap yet?? KENTUCKY?!?! And Patrick Towles?!?! Who, incidentally, JUST "wrestled" the job away from a mediocre talented freshman ...
