Freeze also lost 3 out of 4 to Bret Bielema. Pass.
Ok, you've convinced me. I hadn't realized that it was the 1965 title you felt that your team didn't deserve, since Bama recognizing that title required a post-bowl vote, which you have adamantly argued was not the correct way to view national title recognition in the 1960s, due to the different era where you have CLEARLY argued that bowls shouldn't count. Thanks for clearing that up.
So your justification is that teams of the '60s didn't care about winning their bowl games? Tell that to Joe Namath who has given several interviews about that game describing how bad they wanted to win. In fact, the AP changed to post-bowl voting after that controversy because even they realized their mistake. The sad thing is that Alabama has lots of legitimate success in their history to brag about. Claiming national titles due to dubious technicalities comes across as lame. But whatever ... I guess.
So I guess the post-bowl votes suddenly started mattering in 1965 when Alabama jumped from 4th to 1st after the bowls? Calling it a different era is a cop-out. Bama fans claiming that title are worse than UCF fans - at least they won their bowl game to add some legitimacy to their claim.
Wait... Bama is still claiming the '64 title when they lost their bowl game that year? Isn't that like bragging about your participation trophy?
"Besides, no one complains in BB when a team gets left out." Seriously? Every year there is endless whining about teams left out of the NCAA tournament. You could double the field and there would still be complaining.
Less than half. Around $5.9 million if fired before Jan 1, and about $4.2 million after then.
Stoops is just looking out for Oklahoma, not Arkansas. If the Hogs joined the Big12, then the Big12 benefits. Or perhaps Oklahoma benefits by jumping to the SEC to take the Hogs place. Every team that had an option of fleeing the Big12 has already done so at the first opportunity. The only teams added in the last 20 years (TCU, W. Virginia) had no better options available. Any Arkansas fan who favors this move has the short-sightedness of a 4 year old, and lacks the math skills required to balance a checkbook. If they made this move, Arkansas would be the laughing stock of college football, and should drop the red jerseys for yellow ones.
