Coach Elliott has been an outstanding coach and motivator at Carolina. As a native of SC, he got to coach the best teams in USC history under Coach Spurrier. I wish great success for him at GSU.
I agree with you to some extent. Our top two candidates appear to have retained what they consider to be better offers. Everything else is speculation. UGA has a better recruiting base and more money to spend on the program than Carolina has, and it is Smart's dream job. If news reports are correct, Herman has chosen to remain at Houston for reasons unknown, but it certainly is not because Houston has a better opportunity. Perhaps he feels he has time to wait on one of the Texas jobs to open up, which might be a better opportunity for him. Contrary to what many believe, Carolina is one of the top 10 or 15 HC jobs in the country (pay, fan base and recruiting base), and Tanner is taking his time to make certain he gets someone he can trust to get the job done well. After all, it is probably the most important hiring decision he will ever make.
