I don't know what half you're talking to. The ones I've been talking to are excited to see this new coaching staff come together. No, Pruitt hasn't been a HC before, but he's been behind the best, and worked his way up through Sabin's organization, with some great side-trips along the way. As a recruiter, he'll be hard to beat. I'm on board.
Currie is bad, but not for the above reasons. I'm not even sure he really searched, I think he had Haslam's buddy Schiano in mind all along. Schiano would have been the equivalent of "Fire Butch Jones" "Hire Butch Jones". John Currie better get on the stick before his own job goes down (if he's not already toast). Mike Leach please, and yes he'd work fine at Tennessee. It helps to have a coach with some personality. Butch Jones had the personality of a piece of cardboard....or maybe a brick.
This year hasn't worked out so well, but I've sure enjoyed watching Hurd play the last two. Wishing him the best, and now let's get on with this season! We've got at least 4 more games to play! GBO!
I figure there was a lot behind the scenes we don't know about. I knew watching the team against SC that there was something very "off". There was no team energy, they looked lifeless. It wasn't the same team that took the field and played their hearts out earlier in the year. It's a shame Jalen Hurd didn't decide this in the off-season. I wish the man luck, but I figure the team will be better off without him. I only wish the issues had been fixed immediately instead of letting it affect the whole team. It wouldn't have been the first time a player was dismissed without comment, and that's on Butch.
Lily Preston....can't you go find somewhere else to advertise?
Thanks for the vote of confidence agdawg, one game at a time!
I remember Bill Battle, and the early Johnny Majors years, yes.
Gotta tell you guys, just got in from work and read this and almost fell out on the floor laughing....yes, too far, all the way to the moon!
Curt Maggitt has been a great boon to the Tennessee team. He reminded me so much of an injured Al Wilson, rooting on his team from the sidelines. He will be a success whatever he decides to do! We'll miss you Curt.
It's good to feel like Tennessee again!
