Cadillac has done an amazing job getting the team to unite, he seems to have bonded with the players, it is a good feel and is very inspirational. That being said and Looking at the long term, Auburn has made several bad hires and cannot afford to get it wrong this time. I believe they are still after a top name that has a proven track record, in addition the new AD can ill afford to have his first big decision looked at poorly. My bet is Kiffin or Freeze, time will tell.
Correct, it would not make sense for UNC or Duke, NC State is a good rivalry but like UNC/Duke.
Gus is a great guy and good coach, notice I said good and not Great. His players love him and he has a good mind for football but becomes predicable. I am personally glad we made the move as it was time for a change (overdue). Beating Georgia then Bama and then losing to Georgia was huge and was a task that we thought was not going to happen. The problem is that was one year, it seems year after year, we cannot beat Georgia and this year UGA was not as good as advertised. Some say the boosters get in the way at Auburn and that is why he could not thrive, well he brought in his good friend on offense and had Kevin Steele on Defense, so all he had to do was coach and it just did not work. Gus would bring high Character to any program but unless he changes, I don't think he will have the same success in the SEC.
